What's Persona?
Persona is HubSpot’s identity verification partner. They allow you to verify your identity to help you regain access to your HubSpot account while also protecting your account from fraud.
How does HubSpot use Persona?
HubSpot uses Persona to confirm that the name in your HubSpot profile matches the name on your identification. It’s recommended to use an ID that displays your name in the language and alphabet that matches your HubSpot profile.
When you use Persona to verify your identity, HubSpot checks the name and photo on your ID and verifies you're over the age of 18. No other information from your identification is shared.
Is Persona secure and do they protect my data?
Persona won’t share any of your information with HubSpot without your consent. They use industry-standard security best practices to ensure their service is secure. To learn more about how Persona's service works, you can visit their privacy policy. Once you’ve verified your identity, you can request that your data be deleted using Persona’s privacy portal.
Do I have to use ID verification to regain access to my account?
It depends on your account status and the reason your account needs to be verified.
- If you need to reset your 2FA, ID verification isn't required. Verifying your account with a photo ID offers a quick way to gain access to your account, but you can always request access from HubSpot support. The HubSpot support process will take 48–72 hours, as information will need to be verified manually.
- If your account has been deactivated, you'll need to verify your identity with your photo ID.
