Update the automated email in your workflow

You can open the details page for your automated workflow email from your workflows tool. From here, you can open the email editor and make any changes.

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Automation > Workflows.
  • Click on the name of the workflow that includes the email you'd like to edit.
  • From the Actions screen, find and click on the name of your email in the Send an email action in your workflow.


  • This will bring you to the details page for the email. Click the Actions dropdown menu and select Edit email to open the editor.
  • Make your changes to the email editor. Click Next to review your email's settings.
  • Click the Review tab, then click Update to publish your changes.

The new version of your workflow email will be sent going forward. Contacts who have already moved past this step or have completed the workflow will not receive the updated version.
