I'm trying to add a new user and their name is incorrect - how do I change this?

When creating a new user in HubSpot, upon entering the email address, a first and last name will populate automatically based on the email. If you're seeing the incorrect name display after putting in an email address, this issue generally arises if the email address is shared or if the email address has transferred ownership, but can be easily resolved.

To fix the name of the user, follow the steps below:

  • Add the user (with the incorrect name, initially)
  • Have the newly added user login with their email address
  • Have the new user navigate to Account Menu > Settings > My Profile and edit their first and last name (full instructions on this here)
