You can import a list of contacts into an existing static list by selecting the static list on the details page of your import.

  • In your HubSpot Marketing account, navigate to Contacts > All Contacts.
  • Click Import in the upper-right hand corner.
In the Import file type screen, choose to Import from file
  • Click Start a new import
  • Select A .csv file, then Contacts.

  • Choose the .csv file you wish to import by clicking Select a file or by dragging the file into the window.
  • Once the file is selected, click Upload.
  • On the Import details page, enter a name for your import (this will be the name of the static list that's automatically created of your imported contacts).
  • Select a Lifecycle Stage for your imported contacts. Note: the Lifecycle Stage property is not designed to go backwards; for example, a contact who is already marked as a Customer cannot be set back to a Lead through an import.
  • Click Advanced options
  • Select your existing static list from the Also add contacts to this list dropdown.

  • Complete the rest of the import process. For more information on setting up your import, check out this article.
  • The contacts on your imported list will be added to the static list you select. They will also be add to their own static list, based on the name of the import.

Alternatively, you can import contacts into one of your static lists directly from the list itself.

  • Navigate to ContactsLists.
  • Select the list to which you'd like to import your contacts
  • Click the More dropdown and select Import contacts into list.

  • Choose the .csv file you wish to import by either clicking Choose a file to browse your computer or by dragging into the import dialog box.
  • Once the file is selected, click Upload.
  • The contacts on your imported list will automatically be added to the static list you chose; you don't need to choose this setting this during the import process. They will also be add to their own static list, based on the name of the import.
  • Complete the rest of the import process. For more information on setting up your import, check out this article.
