Why can't I save a new email address for my contact?

There are a few reasons why you may receive an error when attempting to set or change the email address of one of your contacts:

  1. There is another contact using the same email address. In this case, you may want to merge the two records. 
  2. There is another contact that has this email as a secondary email address. This may be due to the contact being merged or having multiple email addresses added to their record. The Email field will display all email addresses associated with the record, with the Primary email address listed first. 
  3. There is an extra space in front of the email address, and as a result it doesn't authenticate. This commonly happens if you copy and paste the email address and an extra space is added.

 Please note: at this time, only the Primary email address will appear in any search results or list filters.
