Can I test the SSL secure CNAME locally?

If you are preparing to host a COS Website using SSL (HTTPS), you might want to test it locally to make sure it will resolve. However, trying to test the secure CNAME by creating an entry in your hosts file will fail because there is a dependency on the authoritative DNS chain being accurate.

When making these changes, HubSpot does guarantee no downtime during this process if you enter the CNAME exactly as instructed, since your http site will continue to operate until provisioning is complete. If you are trying to test what the site will look like over HTTPS, be sure to leave the Require HTTPS box unchecked in your domain manager until the pages look good over HTTPS, then check that box to redirect all HTTP traffic to HTTPS.
