How do I change the template applied to a marketing email?

To change which template your HubSpot page or email is using  (or to apply the new template you created to an existing page or email), access the page or email in the editor mode via the instructions below:

  • In your HubSpot Marketing account, navigate to Content > Email.
  • Click on the name of your email to edit.
  • Click the Settings tab at the top of the editor and scroll down to Template Settings under Advanced Settings.
  • Underneath the name of your template, click on Swap template. This function will allow you to select a different template to apply to your Page or Email.

Please note: Changing templates can have adverse affects on previously published content in certain situations, we recommend cloning an existing email and changing the template on that page to "test" whether any content will be lost in the switch. Content may be lost if: the majority of your content resides in modules on the old template, the modules on the new template don't match the module types on the old template (you shift from an email whose modules were all text to all images for instance), or default text in the new template that overrides the existing content.
