Can opted out contacts still receive some types of email?

  • Emails will not be sent to contacts marked as Opted-out of email communication in their profile from our Marketing platform.
  • Contacts can choose to resubscribe to all or specific email types.
  • Opt-out status is tied to a contact's email address, not the record. If a contact's email address is changed, their previous opt-out status will not apply unless they choose to opt-out again using the new address. 
  • Please note that you can still send emails from the HubSpot CRM to contacts whom have opted out of emails sent from your Marketing platform, as CRM emails are 1:1 and not sent to a group of contacts at once. Also, If you are sending a transactional email, this email type overrides opt-out status and the email will be sent.
