Why does a download icon appear on my images when viewing my HubSpot email in Gmail?

Last updated: August 25, 2016

Gmail will display a small Download icon when a user moves their mouse over an embedded image with dimensions greater than 300 pixels x 150 pixels in the body of an email.

This is a default Gmail feature that allows users to download larger embedded images, similar to email attachments. You can read more about this Gmail feature here.

If you'd like to avoid this button showing up from your HubSpot Marketing emails in future, you would need to make sure your image dimensions are smaller than 300 x 150.
