Example integrations with HubSpot using Zapier

Last updated: February 16, 2016

Zapier is an amazing service that connects all of the apps that you use together. In doing so, it ensures that you've always got the right data in the right place, no matter what sales or marketing activity you are doing. And what's best, you can do it all in a few minutes without the help of a developer, all from inside the HubSpot app.

Each connection between HubSpot and another service is called a "Zap." A Zap is a blueprint for a task you want to do over and over. In words, a Zap looks like this: "When I get a new thing in A, do this other thing in B."

HubSpot users have found tremendous success using Zapier. Below, you'll find examples of the Zaps some of our customers have set up - hopefully they will help you think about how Zapier could help integrate and automate services at your company.

A powerful use case with Zapier is easily passing marketing data to where your Sales reps live, inside their CRM. Zapier looks for new data in HubSpot every 5 minutes, ensuring that your sales reps are getting a new lead in their hands almost instantly after the convert. For example, here is a Zap set up between HubSpot and Pipedrive CRM:

Great For: Quickly transferring leads between systems, closing the loop when a deal is won to measure your marketing ROI, automating a manual CSV import of data from CRM to HubSpot.

Example Services: Most major CRMs including Dynamics, Sugar, Zoho and Nimble.

Many HubSpot users like to write their blog posts and categorize their ideas in an external word processor or notes app, and then copy those blog posts into HubSpot's blogging tool to publish. Here's an example Zap between Evernote and HubSpot:

Great For: Allowing you to create content and ideas in your preferred service, and then automatically moving them to HubSpot's blogging tool when you're ready to publish. Also makes collaborating on blog posts easier.

Example Services: Evernote, Google Docs, and more.

Social Inbox

In many cases, you want to do one of two things with Social Inbox:

  • Plan your social media posts in another system, and publish them through Social Inbox.
  • Send out a social media message every time something happens (new high value customer, new blog post from an industry thought leader, new Facebook post).

Zapier lets you do this by monitoring other systems for changes and automatically triggering a new social media post. For example, here is a Zap in which Google Spreadsheets are used to plan out social media posts, which are then published through Social Inbox:

Great For: Enriching your social media feeds with valuable content in an automated way. If you're struggling to maintain a vibrant social media presence, this might do the trick!

Example Services: Google Spreadsheets, RSS feeds, Facebook Pages, and more.

Support and Helpdesks

Some HubSpot users employ customer service and help applications to help turn detractors into promoters. They realize the importance of having that data inside HubSpot to segment and nurture off of, and use Zapier to help automate that process. Here, we see a Zendesk support case automatically enrolling a contact in a workflow that sends them a followup email:

Great For: Following up with customers, keeping support information inside HubSpot.

Example Services: Zendesk, Helpscout, UserVoice, and more.

Context is everything in inbound marketing, and it's particularly important for our eCommerce users, where repeat business is so important. To enrich HubSpot with purchasing data from an eCommerce shopping cart, Zapier is perfect. In this example, BigCommerce adds a contact to a workflow in HubSpot when they buy something, including their purchase information for more personalized messaging.

Great For: Segmentation and nurturing based on purchase history, measuring ROI on purchases in HubSpot.

Example Services: BigCommerce, Magento, Shopify, and more.

Almost Anything you can think of!

Zapier is designed to integrate HubSpot with a growing list of over 250 services. Services like Eventbrite, SurveMonkey, and so many others are more valuable to your business when integrated with HubSpot. As long as Zapier supports a service, you can integrate it with HubSpot!
