What is Partner Capacity and how can I manage my registered leads using the Capacity Manager?

This article will help HubSpot Partners learn more about Partner Capacity and managing their registered leads through the new Capacity Manager tool.

What counts towards capacity?

Capacity is measured by the count of Prospects and their Website Domains that you have registered with HubSpot.  You will receive Sold MRR benefits and commission by selling HubSpot to Prospects and Domains you have successfully registered in your capacity.  

How is capacity related to registration?

During successful registration a contact’s Website is added to your capacity as a Registered Domain. The Registered Domain will not change even if the contact’s Website value changes in your HubSpot portal.  

Why is it important to maintain your capacity?

Capacity limits will be strictly enforced once it is generally available.  This means you will be prevented from registering new Prospects with HubSpot if you have reached your capacity limit. You can maintain your capacity by deregistering prospects with the Capacity Manager tool.  

What is my registration capacity limit?

Your capacity limit correlates to your partner tier. Untiered partners may register up to 50 domains.  Silver, gold and platinum partners may register up to 500 domains. Diamond partners may register up to 1000 domains.

What happens when you deregister prospects?

Deregistration of a prospect will release it from your capacity and remove your eligibility for commission and Sold MRR benefits if the prospect purchases HubSpot for the Registered Domain.

To deregister a prospect:

  • From your HubSpot Marketing account, navigate to Contacts > All Contacts or from your HubSpot Sales account, navigate to Contacts.
  • Click on the name of the contact you'd like to deregister.
  • On the Lead Registration card, click the gear icon and select Manage your capacity.

  • Next, on the Partner Registration Capacity dashboard, select the checkbox next to the prospect(s) you'd like to deregister.
  • Click Deregister.

How do I use the Capacity Manager?

You can access the capacity manager in any of the following ways:

  1. From any contact record by clicking the gear in the upper right-hand corner of the Lead Registration card.
  2. By clicking Capacity in the top navigation bar of your Partner account.

Once in the capacity manager, search out domains you wish to remove from your capacity. You can use the search functionality to sort by any of the following:

  • Domain
  • Company
  • Contact Name
  • Country

Select a single domain by clicking the checkbox to the left of the company name. Or, you can select all domains on the page by clicking the grey checkbox in the upper left-hand corner.

Using the filter at the bottom of the Capacity Manager you can display up to 100 domains per page.

Once a domain or domains have been selected, clicking the Deregister button will trigger a pop-up window explaining what it means to "deregister" a lead. You will be able to view all of the domains you have selected to deregister. Once you have reviewed and confirmed that these are the correct domains, clicking Yes, deregister will remove them and the status bar at the top of the page will update accordingly.
