Why does Page Performance show a "301: Moved Permanently" error message when I try to refresh a page's data?

Last updated: June 6, 2016

When attempting to refresh page data or check a page for SEO errors in Page Performance, the following error may appear:
301 error
This indicates that the Page Performance crawler is unable to access your page(s) due to a 301 redirect. Page Performance considers a page unique based on its URL. When a page is redirected to another URL, the page with the old URL will no longer be crawled. Instead, the page with the new URL will appear in Page Performance and start to receive views. (The page with the old URL will not be removed from Page Performance, but will stop receiving new views).Related articles:
