The Lifecycle Stage property in HubSpot will be automatically updated only under certain circumstances. The following conditions must be met in order for the contact's Lifecycle Stage property to be changed in HubSpot based on actions in Salesforce.
- In HubSpot, the Automatic Lifecycle Stage Transitions setting must be set to Yes. To check this, navigate to Account Menu > Integrations. Click on Settings under Salesforce and scroll to the Automatic Lifecycle Stage Transitions section.
- In Salesforce, the contact must be attached to an opportunity which has been marked as Closed/Won. Check to make sure that the contact is attached to the opportunity in the Contact Roles section of the opportunity; this will move the Lifecycle Stage to Opportunity in HubSpot. When that opportunity is marked as Closed/Won, the Lifecycle Stage in HubSpot will progress to Customer.
If the opportunity is marked as Closed/Lost, the Lifecycle Stage in HubSpot will remain at Opportunity. The Lifecycle Stage property cannot be changed in reverse unless it is cleared first, so someone with a Lifecycle Stage of Customer who is attached to a new opportunity will continue to have a Lifecycle Stage of Customer.
