Understand and manage system domains

Each HubSpot account includes at least one default system domain that can be used to host content. Understanding which system domains are in your account helps you manage where your content is hosted and set up redirects when needed.

Understand system domains

The system domains in your account depend on your data hosting location and subscription type:

Please note: HubSpot accounts using free tools, created before April 2, 2025, will have [Hub ID].hubspotpagebuilder as the system domain with the applicable top-level domain (e.g., .eu, .com, .net, .ca, .au) determined by the data hosting location.

There are a few things to keep in mind when working with system domains: 

• These domains are unique to each HubSpot account.
• Usually, you can't edit or remove these domains from your account. If your account has three system domains, you can disconnect one of the hs-sites domains. For account-specific exceptions, contact HubSpot Support.
• Hosting your content on these domains won't benefit your SEO as they are HubSpot domains and search engines won't find them. It's recommended to connect your own domain to host your content. 
• If you change domain hosts and have temporary downtime, or if you don't renew your domain with your hosting provider, HubSpot content can be hosted temporarily on these domains.

Please note: you cannot create new system domains with the format [Hub ID].hs-sites.com, [Hub ID].hs-sites-eu1.com, [portalID].hs-sites-na2.com, [portalID].hs-sites-na3.com, or [portalID].hs-sites-ap1.com.

Connect a system domain as a redirect domain

Connect an additional system domain as a redirect domain to route visitors from a system subdomain to another domain in your account.

1. In your HubSpot account, click the settings icon in the top navigation bar.
2. In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Content > Domains & URLs.
3. Click to expand Advanced options at the bottom of the page.
4. In the New system redirect domain section, click Add new domain. 

5. In the dialog box, enter a subdomain to redirect from.
6.  Click the Domain to redirect to dropdown menu and select a domain. 
7. When finished, click Save.
