Insert subscription links into your marketing emails

Last updated: May 22, 2025

Available with any of the following subscriptions, except where noted:

All products and plans

By default, all marketing emails include at least one link in the email footer for contacts to manage their subscription preferences.

In compliance with recent requirements from Google & Yahoo for bulk senders, marketing emails will also include a link to unsubscribe from that email's subscription type above the email. This link may not appear for some recipients.

You can also add links directly into the body of emails to allow contacts to manage their subscription preferences.

Add subscription links to a marketing email

    1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Email.
    2. Click the name of an email draft, or create a new email.
    3. In the email editor, highlight the text you'll use for the link, then click the link icon link in the formatting bar.
    4. In the dialog box, click the Link to dropdown menu, then select Email subscription link.
    5. Click the Subscription type dropdown menu, then select a subscription type:
      • Subscription preferences: link to a preferences page where recipients can manage their subscription types individually.
      • Subscription confirmation: link to a double opt-in page where recipients can confirm their subscription.
      • Unsubscribe all: link that recipients can click to unsubscribe from all emails from your business.
    6. Click Insert.
