Collect online payments or record offline payments from your buyers in HubSpot. Use this article to understand the different ways to collect payments, including how to set up taxes and fees. After collecting payments, learn how to manage payment transactions, payouts, disputes, and refunds.
When you have decided on the way you want to collect payments, use HubSpot tools including payment links, invoices, quotes, legacy quotes, and subscriptions to collect payments.

Understand requirements
To collect online payments, you must have HubSpot payments or Stripe as your payment processing option set upUnderstand limitations and considerations
When using Stripe as a payment processing option:
- The total amount due must be more than $0.50, or the equivalent minimum of the settlement currency. Learn more about Stripe's minimum charge amounts.
- If a recurring line item is due at a later date, it can be processed if at least one other line item is due at checkout.
Online payments
Configure HubSpot's revenue tools to accept online payments from your buyers. Collect payments from debit and credit cards and bank debit methods (e.g., ACH, SEPA, BACs).
Payment processors
To collect online payments, connect HubSpot payments or Stripe as a payment processing option. Learn more about the associated fees when using either processing option.
- HubSpot payments: available to companies based in United States, United Kingdom, and Canada, and enables you to collect payments through credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and bank debits such as ACH, SEPA, PADs, and BACS. Learn more about setting up HubSpot payments.
- Stripe as a payment processing option: available internationally with some exceptions. Learn more about connecting Stripe as a payment processing option.
Checkout experience
When accepting online payments, buyers are directed to a familiar checkout experience to complete payment. Customize the checkout experience for your buyers. Set default accepted payment methods, billing and shipping address options, fees and policies, and reCAPTCHA and analytics tracking settings.

Offline payments
As well as online payments, you can collect payments from other offline methods. For example, if you accept payment using bank transfers or checks, you can record payments in HubSpot.

Taxes and fees
Add taxes and fees to your payments and ensure you're staying compliant and collecting the appropriate payment fees at checkout.
Automated sales tax
Seats required A Revenue Hub seat is required to set up automatic sales tax collection.
Permissions required Super Admin permissions are required to set up automatic sales tax collection.
Calculate and collect the correct tax based on your buyers location when you use invoices, payment links, quotes, including change and renewal quotes on contracts, legacy quotes, or subscriptions. Available for businesses based in the U.S. and Canada.

Tax rates
Permissions required Super Admin permissions are required to add and edit tax rates in the tax library.
Add taxes to the products and services you sell by creating a tax library and applying them to your line items across credit memos, deals, invoices, payment links, quotes, legacy quotes, and subscriptions. Reduce manual data entry for users, and risk of errors when applying tax rates to products or services. For example, you could add tax rates for Sales Tax in the U.S., GST and HST in Canada, or VAT in the U.K.

Fees

Manage completed payments
Manage completed payments from HubSpot. Process payouts, review payment records, manage refunds and receipts, and manage payment disputes.
Manage payouts
If you're using HubSpot payments, you can view payouts in HubSpot. Payouts are the funds deposited into your bank account from your collected payments each day, minus any fees, refunds, or chargebacks.

Manage payments
Payment details are stored in a payment record in HubSpot. From the record, manage payment-related tasks from the payments index page. Review transaction fees, receive daily payouts, issue refunds, send receipts, update receipt and refund email branding, retrieve bank debit authorization documents, retry failed payments, and request updated payment information from customers.

Manage disputed payments
Track and manage payment disputes directly in your HubSpot account. From the payments record, view the status of each dispute, upload supporting evidence, and respond to requests from your payment processor. You will receive email notifications throughout the dispute process, and you can access the full history and details from the payment record.
Disputes can be made against payments collected using HubSpot payments or Stripe as a payment processing option.
