My business needs to abide by the EU Privacy/Cookie Law. Can I use HubSpot?

Yes. In HubSpot, you have the ability to easily set a privacy policy and notice, so that your website visitors can turn off all cookie/IP tracking. Learn how to set this up here.

Is HubSpot Safe Harbor certified?

Yes. HubSpot is U.S.-E.U. & U.S.-Swiss Safe Harbor compliant. HubSpot complies with the U.S.-EU Safe Harbor Framework and the U.S.-Swiss Safe Harbor Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information from European Union member countries and Switzerland. HubSpot has certified that it adheres to the Safe Harbor Privacy Principles of notice, choice, onward transfer, security, data integrity, access, and enforcement. Can the keywords data be customized to my location?

Yes. In the keywords tool in HubSpot Marketing Basic, Pro, and Enterprise accounts, you can set your location (which is based on countries with the most HubSpot customers). Learn how to set your location here. By default, the keywords tool collects data across all countries and based on data from various providers. Currently, you can set the keywords tool to collect data specific to your region if your company has a major presence in any of these countries:

Does HubSpot keyword tracking incorporate larger international search engines (i.e. Baidu in China)?

No. The keywords tool primarily uses the Google search engine. However, a user can set their locale and we will reference the local version of Google to serve results (i.e. for Germany, for Japan, etc.). Learn more about localizing the Keywords tool and what regions that we currently support.


Does HubSpot support any content translation integrations for creating multi-language websites?

Yes. HubSpot's COS integrates with several translation connector services that will allow your content to be translated and injected back into your HubSpot account. For more information, check out this article.

Does HubSpot have a way for me to organize my multi-language pages? 

Yes. Within Content Settings, you can select a primary language for each of your domains, then create different versions of each master page for translations. To learn more about this, check out this article.

Can I target smart content based on a viewer’s country?

Yes. Smart content is now targetable by a viewer’s IP country. To learn how to get started with smart content, check out this article.

Does HubSpot support right-to-left reading content (i.e. Hebrew & Arabic)?

If you have specified a right-to-left reading content language for your pages, HubSpot now takes care of the appropriate formatting for the user within the content editor. Alternatively, you or your developer can implement custom CSS to change the direction of your text. Learn more about this here


Do foreign languages (including foreign language characters) work in the marketing email tool?

Yes. Foreign language characters should work within the email tool to include non-Latin character sets.

Can I schedule marketing emails to be sent according to my timezone?

Yes. Emails sends will be based on the time zone you have set. Learn how to set your time zone here.

My business is based in the Middle East and our weekends are different than U.S. weekends. Can I send my workflow emails every day of the week, including Saturday and Sunday?

Yes. In the new workflow tool, if you go to each workflow’s settings, you can select No under to Execute steps on business days only.

Can I customize the unsubscribe verbiage at the bottom of my marketing emails?

Yes. You can edit your template settings to customize the unsubscribe verbiage however you’d like, as long as you do not remove any of the required dynamic tokens.

Does HubSpot’s marketing email tool include a double opt-in feature?

Can I set customize CAN-SPAM addresses for multi-region email marketing?

Yes. This is an Enterprise-only feature.

Can I localize the date/time format for my RSS subscriber emails?

Yes. This information is now customizable. For instructions on how to change this setting, read this document.


Can I import leads with foreign characters?

Yes. Foreign characters are supported in the import process in HubSpot Sales and Marketing. To import a list that includes foreign characters “Save as…” the original file as a UTF-16 .txt format and then import as you normally would. For detailed export instructions visit check out this article.

Will I be able to map my leads’ provinces and postal codes to HubSpot?

Yes. Instead of our contact fields being U.S.-centric (zip code & state), these fields are called Postal Code and State/Region so they are applicable to any business, anywhere.

Will I be able to import my CSV files, which are semi-colon-separated instead of comma-separated?

Yes. We know that European files saved as CSV are instantly semi-colon-separated instead of comma-separated. This will not cause any errors when you upload the file.

Will HubSpot detect my contacts’ LinkedIn profiles if they don’t have their profile URLs as .com?

Yes. The Contacts tool will also be able to detect your contacts’ non-US LinkedIn profiles.

Is IP Time Zone in my local time zone?

Yes. Time Zone settings are managed at the portal level, so data for your portal will be shown in the local time zone you set your portal to.

Can I modify the validation message in forms?

Yes. HubSpot now offers standard form validation errors translated into the following languages right out of the box:

To change your form’s language simply select the Options tab in the Forms editor and select the desired language from the Error message language drop-down. Read more here.

Can I create a landing page with foreign language characters?

Yes. Foreign language characters will work with the HubSpot COS.


Can I create blog posts with foreign language characters?

Yes. Foreign language characters will work with HubSpot's blog tool.

Can I customize the static text on my HubSpot blog to be in my language?

Yes. You can edit static text within your HubSpot blog, to include:

  • “RSS Feed”
  • “Click here to read/write comments”
  • “Tags”
  • “Posted by”
  • “Subscribe” (editable through the Forms app)
  • Everything associated with the comment form (except Comment error codes - on the Blog tool roadmap)

Can I customize the timestamp format on my blog posts?

When people subscribe to my blog, will the autoresponder be in my language?

Yes. All email text is now editable through the marketing email tool.
