Use the HubSpot Sales Chrome extension across the web

Access the HubSpot Sales Chrome extension on all web pages. When activated, a sidebar will display in your Chrome browser on every website. The sidebar will match domain names to existing company profiles, or allow you to create new company records in HubSpot. You can enroll contacts in sequences, send emails, make calls, and view HubSpot records directly from your prospect’s websites, Salesforce or Gmail.
Please note: you must be using the most up to date version of the HubSpot Sales Chrome extension to access it across the web.
Access and manage your HubSpot Chrome extension
To access the extension, click the HubSpotocket sprocket icon in the top right of the browser’s address bar. From here, you can view your activity feed or configure your settings.
If the HubSpot Chrome extension isn't appearing in your browser's address bar, you may need to pin the extension to your toolbar.
Activity feed
On the Activity feed tab, you can review a list of your sales activity notifications. Real-time notifications are triggered when a lead revisits your site, a tracked email is opened or clicked, a shared document is viewed, or a meeting is booked.
To follow up with a contact in HubSpot, hover over the activity and click Call. Or, click the More dropdown menu and select from the following:
- Email: send a sales email to the contact.
- Create task: create a task on the contact record.
- Create note: log a note on the contact record.
- Schedule: schedule a meeting with the contact.
- Turn off thread notifications: mute new notifications for a specific email thread.

Settings
On the Settings tab, you can control where your extension is turned on, exclude websites, and select an account to use the extension with.
Extension enablement
- In the Extension enablement section, you can enable the extension to work on Gmail, Salesforce and All other websites:
- Gmail: the HubSpot Chrome extension is enabled by default for gmail.
- Salesforce: to access the HubSpot Chrome extension in Salesforce:
- Toggle the switch on.
- In the dialog box, click Allow.

Website exclusions
- In the Website exclusions section, you can prevent the HubSpot Chrome extension from running on specific sites:
- Enter the URL of the website you want to exclude.
- Click Add.
- The following sites have been excluded by default: facebook.com, youtube.com, instagram.com, google.com, and hubspot.com.
- To remove a website from the exclusion list, click the X beside the website URL and refresh the page.
Enable Copilot
In the Enable Copilot section, Toggle the switch on to access Copilot in the HubSpot Sales Chrome Extension. You can request information, generate content, and perform actions. Learn more about using Copilot.
Accounts in use
- In the Accounts in use section, you'll see the HubSpot account you're currently connected to marked as In use. To select a different HubSpot account:
- Click the Select an account dropdown menu
- Select an account.
- In the dialog box, click Change account.
Additional help
In the Additional help section, you can review HubSpot's Customer Terms of Service from the extension settings, uninstall the extension or submit feedback on the extension directly from the extension settings.
Use the HubSpot Sales Chrome Extension across the web
If you have enabled All other websites and you are browsing a website which is not on the Website exclusion list, then you’ll see the HubSpot Sales sidebar toggle on the side of any website. This sidebar will match domain names to existing company profiles, or allow you to create new company records.
To access the HubSpot Sales HubSpot Sales Chrome extension across the web, click the HubSpot sprocket icon at the side of any website.
Sidebar for new companies
When browsing a domain for a company without an existing record in the HubSpot, you’ll see the company header, domain, and phone number. You can click Add to HubSpot to create a company record and add it to HubSpot, some properties will populate from HubSpot Insights.
Sidebar for existing companies
When browsing a domain for a company that already exists in HubSpot, you'll see the company name, domain, and phone number. Below the primary properties, you can interact with the record by clicking the respective icons. Click Open in CRM to view the record in HubSpot.
On the Company tab:
- About this company: view the company properties that you have configured on the company record.
- Deals: view deals associated with the company record. Click + Add to create and associate new or existing deals to the company.
- Tickets: view tickets associated with the company record. Click + Add to create and associate new or existing tickets to the company.
On the Activity tab:
- View activities associated with the company.
- Click the > arrow to expand the section.
On the Contacts tab:
View a list of contacts associated with the company. You can search for contacts or click a specific contact to show the contact record in the sidebar.
- Click the contact record.
- Below the primary properties, you can interact with the record by clicking the respective icons.
- Click Open in HubSpot to view the record in HubSpot.
- On the Details tab:
- About this contact: view the contact properties that you have configured on the contact record.
- Deals: view deals associated with the contact record. Click + Add to create and associate new or existing deals to the contact.
- Tickets: view tickets associated with the contact record. Click + Add to create and associate new or existing tickets to the contact.
- On the Activity tab:
- View activities associated with the contact.
- Click the > arrow to expand the section.
Access Copilot from the HubSpot Sales Chrome extension
You can access Copilot from within the HubSpot Sales sidebar. You must have Copilot turned on in HubSpot and your HubSpot Sales Chrome extension settings.
To access Copilot from the HubSpot Sales Chrome extension, click the Copilot icon at the side of any website.
Use the HubSpot Sales Chrome extension with records in Salesforce (Professional and Enterprise accounts only)
After turning on the extension for Salesforce, you'll be able to see the HubSpot Sales sidebar when using Salesforce. This will allow you to use HubSpot tools such as calling, meetings, sequence enrollments and more, directly in Salesforce and on your Salesforce contact, lead, and account records. This sidebar will match contact and company profiles in Salesforce with related profiles in HubSpot.
Please note:
- To use the HubSpot Chrome extension with Salesforce records, Salesforce users must also be a user in HubSpot and logged in to the latter system. Users will need the View records permissions in HubSpot.
- For the Chrome extension to display information on a Salesforce account or opportunity record, the account/opportunity must be syncing with a respective HubSpot company/deal, and that company/deal must have an associated, syncing contact.
To access the HubSpot Sales Chrome extension in Salesforce:
- From a Salesforce contact, lead, or account page, click the sprocket sproket icon.
- In the right panel, review the corresponding HubSpot record's details. Users can also do the following:
- Add notes to the HubSpot record
- Make calls using HubSpot's calling tool
- Create and send one-to-one emails
- Create tasks in HubSpot
- Users with a paid Sales Hub or Service Hub Professional or Enterprise seat will also be able to:
Use the HubSpot Sales Chrome extension to bulk enroll contacts or leads in Salesforce
If you have a paid Sales Hub or Service Hub Professional or Enterprise seat, you can bulk enroll contacts or leads directly from Salesforce into a HubSpot sequence:
- From the Salesforce contact and lead pages, select the checkboxes next contacts or leads that you'd like to enroll in a sequence.
- At the top left, click Enroll in sequence.
- In the dialog box, use the search bar to search for a sequence by name, or click the Owner dropdown menu and select a filter option.
- The Last used at column is user specific, so it will show the sequences that you last sent. To sort your sequences, click a column header.
- Hover over a sequence and click Select.
- In the next window, customize your sequence templates and settings. Learn more about personalizing your sequence email content.
- Specify the email template you want the sequence to start at, set delays between sequence steps, and specify times that you would like each sequence template to send.
- Then, click Start sequence.
