If you have turned on the marketing email double opt-in feature, you can track a contact's eligibility to receive marketing emails with the Marketing email confirmation status contact property.
This property is automatically set by HubSpot based on a contact's interaction with the double opt-in email and their confirmation status.
Marketing email confirmation statuses
The Marketing email confirmation status property can have the following values:
- If your contact has any of the following statuses, the contact is still pending double opted-in status:
- Confirmation pending: the contact has entered the double opt-in flow but has yet to be sent the confirmation email.
- Confirmation email sent: the confirmation email has been sent. HubSpot is waiting for the contact to click to confirm their double opt-in. If the double opt-in email bounces, the contact's status will revert to Confirmation pending.
- If your contact has any of the following statuses, the contact is considered double opted in for email:
- Confirmed: the contact's double opt-in status has been confirmed and a follow-up email has been sent.
- User clicked confirmation: the contact has clicked on the link in the confirmation email.
- HubSpot Rep. marked confirmed: the contact has been marked as confirmed by a HubSpot rep through an API call.
- Customer marked confirmed: the contact has been marked as confirmed during a bulk update. This may include a bulk update from a HubSpot user through the CRM or an update through a workflow.
- Confirmed from previous behavior: the contact received an email prior to double opt-in being enabled.
- Confirmed due to form: the contact filled out a form on a page where double opt-in isn't required.
