Manage your user profile and preferences

In your HubSpot account, you can manage personal preferences that apply only to your user, such as your language and formatting settings, phone number, and time zone. These settings control how HubSpot appears and behaves for you.
Some commonly related settings are managed in other areas of HubSpot:

To navigate to your account preferences, click your profile picture in the top right corner, then click Profile & Preferences. This will take you to the General section of account settings.
Profile image and name
The profile image, first name, and last name associated with a HubSpot user can only be changed by the user themselves, or a Super Admin who logs in as the user only if that user is on one HubSpot account. Otherwise, users can't make edits to other users' names, even if they have the Add and edit users permission.
To change your profile image and first name and last name:
- In your HubSpot account, click your profile picture in the top right corner, then click Profile & Preferences.
- Click your current Profile Image, then select from the available options:
- Upload image: to upload a new image from your computer. Then select your image and use the slider to adjust the image size so that it fits in the circle. To save your changes, click Save.
- Use Gravatar: to use a Gravatar photo. If you don't have a Gravatar photo yet, you can click Set up Gravatar photo to add one. Learn more about Gravatar.
- Remove image: to remove the current avatar image.
- In the First name field, enter your first name.
- In the Last name field, enter your last name.
- Click Save.
Language and date & number format
The language setting controls the language that displays in HubSpot's user interface. This setting won't adjust the language in the HubSpot mobile app. To change the mobile app language, adjust your iPhone or Android language settings. Learn more about HubSpot's language offerings.
To change the language and number format that displays in HubSpot:
- In your HubSpot account, click your profile picture in the top right corner, then click Profile & Preferences.
- Click the Language dropdown menu and select a language. Switching your language will automatically adjust your Date & number format.
- To change the date and number format, click the Date, time, and number format dropdown menu, then select a region.
- Click Save.

Please note: the date and number format used in personalization tokens in marketing emails and workflows will use the account default settings instead.
Phone number
To set the phone number that's used to notify you about security events:
- In your HubSpot account, click your profile picture in the top right corner, then click Profile & Preferences.
- In the Phone number field, enter your phone number, then click Save.
Time zone
You can set a time zone for your user to automatically display time data in certain tools in your local time. User time zones apply to the scheduling of email, SMS, and social communication, as well as marketing index pages. For example, a marketing executive in Germany can review an email created by a colleague in Canada, see when changes were made, then schedule that email to go out the following morning without worrying about whose time zone is being used.
By default, your user's time zone will be set to the time zone of your device.
To manually set your user time zone:
- In your HubSpot account, click the settings settings icon in the top navigation bar.
- In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Users & Teams.
- In the user table, click a user record.
- Click the Preferences tab.
- Click Working hours in the left sidebar menu.
- Clear the checkbox next to Update time zone based on device location.
- Click the Time zone dropdown menu and select a time zone.
- In the bottom left, click Save.

If you previously manually updated your time zone, to revert back to adjusting your time zone based on your device location:
- In your HubSpot account, click the settings settings icon in the top navigation bar.
- In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Users & Teams.
- In the user table, click a user record.
- Click the Preferences tab.
- Click Working hours in the left sidebar menu.
- Select the checkbox next to Update time zone based on device location.
- In the bottom left, click Save.
