Track conversions in Google Ads with a global site tag

Available with any of the following subscriptions, except where noted:

Add a global site tag to track conversions on your HubSpot-hosted pages in Google Ads. To work with ads data primarily in HubSpot, connect your Google Ads account and install the Google Ads pixel instead.

In addition to the global site tag, add the event snippet to the head HTML of any thank you pages you want to track conversions for.

Before you get started

Before you track conversions in Google Ads on your HubSpot-hosted pages, review the requirements and limitations.

Permissions required The following permissions are required, dependent on where you add the global site tag:

Understand limitations & considerations

Add the global site tag to all pages

  1. Copy the global site tag snippet from your Google Ads account.
  2. In your HubSpot account, click the settings settings icon in the top navigation bar.
  3. In the left sidebar menu, navigate to ContentPages.
  4. In the Site header HTML section, paste the global site tag snippet. If you're already using a global site tag from Google Analytics, learn more about adapting it for Google Ads in Google's documentation.

  1. When finished, click Save in the bottom left.

Add the global site tag to individual pages

Subscription required One of the following subscriptions is required to edit the head HTML of landing pages:

  • Content Hub Professional or Enterprise

  • Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise

  1. Navigate to your content:
  2. Hover over a page and click Edit.

  3. In the content editor, click the Settings menu and select Advanced.
  4. In the dialog box, paste the global site tag snippet in the Head HTML field. 

  1. To take your changes live, click Publish or Update in the top right.
