Clone workflows and workflow actions

Clone workflows as a starting point when creating new workflows. After adding actions, you can also copy or move them to create workflows more efficiently. This can be especially useful when building out repetitive actions that need only minor adjustments. When building these kinds of workflows, you can also consider using go-to-actions.

For example, you're building a workflow to create deals based on a contact's location. Instead of creating four Create deal actions, you could create one action, clone it three times, and make adjustments. 

Clone workflows

1. In your HubSpot account, click More, then navigate to Automation > Workflows. If More doesn't appear in your account, navigate to Automation > Workflows directly.
2. Hover over the workflow and click Clone.
3. In the dialog box, enter a name for your new workflow.
4. If you have the Brands add-on, click the dropdown menu and select a brand for your new workflow.
5. Click Clone.

Please note: workflows with more than 500 actions may encounter issues when cloning. If you've encountered an issue, you can try reducing the number of actions, splitting the workflow into smaller workflows before cloning, or manually recreating the workflow instead.

Clone and move workflow actions

1. In your HubSpot account, click More, then navigate to Automation > Workflows. If More doesn't appear in your account, navigate to Automation > Workflows directly.
2. Click the name of a workflow, or create a new workflow.
3. Add a new action to the workflow, or locate an existing action you want to clone or move.
4. To clone a workflow action:
   • In the action box, click the duplicateClone icon. Then, select from the following options:
     • Clone this action only: clone only the selected action.
     • Clone this action and all following actions: clone the selected action and all following actions. 
   • Choose where the cloned actions will be placed by clicking Place here in the desired location. 
   • In the dialog box, click Save

5. To move a workflow action: 
   
   • In the action box, click the move Move icon. Then, select from the following options:
     • Move this action only: move only the selected action
     • Move this action and all following actions: move the selected action and all following actions. This option may only appear on certain actions.
       
       

• • Choose where the selected action will be placed by clicking Place here in the desired location.
  • After moving your action, click Save.
