Resolve unsafe CTA link errors
Last updated: February 1, 2021
If one of your CTAs leads to a warning page, it's likely due to a malformed tracking URL. Learn more about why this issue occurs and how to resolve it below.
When you create a CTA, HubSpot will validate the domain of the tracking URL to confirm that it aligns with the domain you connected. If that CTA's original tracking URL was adjusted, HubSpot will detect the discrepancy and redirect to the unsafe URL warning page, to protect you and your website visitors from mistakenly navigating to a spoofed version of your site.
To fix the issue, you can either:
- Re-embed the CTA onto your website, without making any changes to the original embed code.
- Update the URL of the original CTA to ensure the following two requirements:
- You own and manage the domain name in the URL.
- The
cta_guid
parameter is present, and has the value matching an active CTA you own.
Thank you for your feedback, it means a lot to us.
