Personalize links in marketing emails

In the marketing email editor, you can add links to button and image modules that pull data from personalization tokens. You can use personalized links to send contacts to specific pages personalized to what you know about them. 

Personalize image modules in marketing emails

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Email.
  2. Click the name of a drafted email, or click Create email in the top right. 
  3. In the email editor, drag the image module from the left sidebar editor into the body of the email. 
  4. In the left sidebar editor, click Upload to add a new image or Browse images to add images from the files tool
  5. In the Link field, click Personalize
  6. In the pop-up box, click the Type dropdown menu and select a token type, such as contact or office location.
  7. Click the Token dropdown menu and select a token
  8. If no global default value exists for the token, you can enter a fallback value. This will be the link used for any contacts without a value for the selected token. If left blank, the image module won't contain a link. 
  9. Click Insert
  10. Finish editing your email.

Personalize button modules in marketing emails

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Email.
  2. Click the name of a drafted email, or click Create email in the top right. 
  3. In the email editor, drag the button module from the left sidebar editor into the body of the email. 
  4. In the Link URL field, click Personalize

  1. In the pop-up box, click the Type dropdown menu and select a token type, such as contact or office location.
  2. Click the Token dropdown menu and select a token
  3. If no global default value exists for the token, you can enter a fallback value. This will be the link used for any contacts without a value for the selected token. If left blank, the image module won't contain a link. 
  4. Click Insert
  5. In the Button text field, enter the text that will appear on the button. 
  6. Finish editing your email.
