Optimize email engagement

When sending a marketing email, you can choose what levels of engagement to target with the recipients. Sending marketing emails to more engaged contacts results in higher open and click rates and a better sender reputation. 

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Email.
  2. Click the name of a drafted email, or click Create email
  3. In the email editor, click the send icon in the left sidebar. 
  4. Click the Send to dropdown menu and select the checkbox next to each contact or segment you want to receive the email. 
  5. In the left sidebar editor, select an goal in the Optimize open rate section:
    • Maximize reach: the email will be sent to all selected contacts. 
    • Improve open rate: the contacts who have interacted with your emails the least will be excluded from this send. 
    • Prioritize open rate: only contacts who are highly engaged will be sent this email.
  6. Finish setting up your email.
