Use the updated content editor (BETA)

Edit page content

  • Navigate to your content:

    • Website Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Website > Website Pages.
    • Landing Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Landing Pages.
  • Hover over a page and click Edit
  • In the content editor, click the add Add icon in the left sidebar to add content.
  • In the first column, select the type of asset you're adding: 
    • Modules: individual assets that support adding a specific type of content, such as videos, images, or forms.
    • Sections: saved blocks of modules that can be reused on different pages. You can select theme or saved custom sections in the second column. 
    • Layouts: blank areas of the page that can be filled in with modules.

  • Click an asset, then drag it into position on the page. 
  • To view all assets on the page, click the siteTree Contents icon in the left sidebar. 
  • To attach the page to a topic or view SEO recommendations, click the gauge Optimize icon in the left sidebar.
    • To attach the page to a topic: 
      • To add an existing topic, click the Topic dropdown menu and select a topic for your page.
      • To create a new topic, click the Topic dropdown menu and select Add core topic. In the dialog box, enter the topic, then click Save
    • To attach the page to a subtopic keyword:
      • Select the Is this supporting content? checkbox.
      • To add an existing keyword, click the Subtopic keyword dropdown menu and select a subtopic keyword
      • To create a new keyword, click the Subtopic keyword dropdown menu and click Add subtopic keyword. In the dialog box, enter the subtopic keyword, then click Save
    • To view SEO recommendations, click a category with a red circle to see incomplete recommendations. Each completed recommendation will have a green checkmark. Each incomplete recommendation will have a grey checkmark.

  • To create an A/B or adaptive test, click the test test icon in the left sidebar and select Run A/B test or Run adaptive test.
    • To add additional variations, click Add variation.
    • Enter a name for each variation.
    • Click Create variation
  • To edit different content, click the file navigator icon in the left sidebar. 
    • In the first column, select a content type
    • Click the name of the content to open that content in the content editor.

  • To restore a previous version of your content, click the View menu and select Version history. In the left sidebar, select a version, then click Restore this version in the top right. 
  • To take your changes live, click Publish or Update in the top right, then click Publish or Update in the dialog box.

  • To schedule publishing for later:
    • Click the dropdown menu next to Publish or Update in the top right and select Publishing options
    • In the dialog box, select the Schedule publish for later checkbox. 
    • Use the date and time fields to select a publication time, then click Schedule.

Edit page settings

You can edit a page URL, meta description, and featured image, among other settings, in page settings. 

Customize general page settings

  • Navigate to your content:

    • Website Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Website > Website Pages.
    • Landing Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Landing Pages.
  • Hover over a page and click Edit
  • Click the File menu and select Page settings
  • In the dialog box, enter an internal name in the Internal page name field. This name will not be visible to visitors. 
  • In the Page title field, enter an external name for the page. This name will appear in the tab at the top of a visitor's web browser when the page loads. 
  • In the Page URL section, click the Domains dropdown menu and select the domain where your page will be hosted. Then enter a URL slug in the Content slug field. Learn more about editing a page's URL

  • In the Meta description field, enter a description of the page's content that will appear in search results below the page title. 
  • To add a featured image to be included when the page is shared on social media, click to toggle the Featured image switch on. Click Upload to select an image from your computer, or Browse images to select an image from the files tool. To increase accessibility, enter a description of your image in the Image alt text field. 

Change the page template

  • Navigate to your content:

    • Website Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Website > Website Pages.
    • Landing Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Landing Pages.
  • Hover over a page and click Edit
  • Click the File menu and select Page settings.
  • In the dialog box, click Template in the left sidebar menu. 
  • To select a different template, click Use different template.

Please note: If you are switching the template of a published page, make sure to publish any unpublished changes first. Otherwise, these changes may be lost when you switch the template.

  • On the theme selection screen, select a theme.
  • On the template selection screen, select a template.
  • Preview how your page will look with the new template, then click Use template to finish switching the template or Back to select a different template. 

Set the page language

  • Navigate to your content:

    • Website Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Website > Website Pages.
    • Landing Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Landing Pages.
  • Hover over a page and click Edit
  • Click the File menu and select Page settings.
  • In the dialog box, click Language in the left sidebar menu.
  • Click the Page language dropdown menu and select a language. Learn more about managing multi-language pages

Set page visibility

  • Navigate to your content:

    • Website Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Website > Website Pages.
    • Landing Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Landing Pages.
  • Hover over a page and click Edit
  • Click the File menu and select Page settings.
  • In the dialog box, click Audience Access in the left sidebar menu
  • Select an audience access option: 
  • Select Public to make the page's content available to any visitor.
  • Select Private - Password required to add a required password for visitors to access the page content.
  • In a CMS Hub Enterprise account, you can select Private - Registration required to require visitors to register with your site to view this content. 
  • In a CMS Hub Enterprise or Marketing Hub Enterprise account, you can select Private - Single sign on (SSO) required to require visitors to sign in with an identity provider, such as Google or Okta.

Set advanced page options

  • Navigate to your content:

    • Website Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Website > Website Pages.
    • Landing Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Landing Pages.
  • Hover over a page and click Edit
  • Click the File menu and select Page settings.
  • In the dialog box, click Advanced in the left sidebar menu. 
  • To manage the different types of stylesheets attached to the page: 
    • Domain Stylesheets: these stylesheets are attached to all pages on a single domain in your website settings. To turn off domain stylesheets for a particular page, click the dropdown menu and select Disabled. Learn more about working with domain stylesheets.
    • Template Stylesheets: these stylesheets are set by the page's template. To turn off template stylesheets for a particular page, click the dropdown menu and select Disabled. This section won't appear for pages using theme templates
    • Page Stylesheets: these stylesheets will only apply to this page. To attach a page stylesheet, click the Attach a stylesheet dropdown menu and select a stylesheet. If domain and template stylesheets are also used, their styling will take precedence. 
  • To make this page a dynamic page, click the Data source dropdown menu and select a HubDB table or property. Learn more about working with dynamic pages
  • To add code snippets to the head or footer HTML of the page, click the Head HTML or Footer HTML field, then enter your code snippet. To add code snippets to all pages on a domain instead, access your website settings

  • To add a custom canonical URL, enter the URL in the Customize canonical URL field. Learn more about using canonical URLs.

Edit blog content

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Website > Blog.
  • To edit a blog post, hover over the post and click Edit
  • To edit a blog listing page, click the Blog posts dropdown menu in the top left and select Blog listing pages. Then hover over the listing page and click Edit
  • In the content editor, click the add Add icon in the left sidebar to add content
  • Click a module, then drag it into position on the post or listing page. You can add different modules within the Blog content module itself. 
  • To view all modules used on the post or listing page, click the siteTree Contents icon in the left sidebar.

  • To attach the post or listing page to a topic or view SEO recommendations, click the gauge Optimize icon in the left sidebar.
    • To attach the page to a topic: 
      • To add an existing topic, click the Topic dropdown menu and select a topic for your page.
      • To create a new topic, click the Topic dropdown menu and select Add core topic. In the dialog box, enter the topic, then click Save
    • To attach the page to a subtopic keyword:
      • Select the Is this supporting content? checkbox.
      • To add an existing keyword, click the Subtopic keyword dropdown menu and select a subtopic keyword
      • To create a new keyword, click the Subtopic keyword dropdown menu and click Add subtopic keyword. In the dialog box, enter the subtopic keyword, then click Save
    • To view SEO recommendations, click a category with a red circle to see incomplete recommendations. Each completed recommendation will have a green checkmark. Each incomplete recommendation will have a grey checkmark.

  • To edit different content, click the file navigator icon in the left sidebar. 
    • In the first column, select a content type
    • Click the name of the content to open that content in the content editor. 
  • To restore a previous version of your content, click the View menu and select Version history. In the left sidebar, select a version, then click Restore this version in the top right. 
  • To take your changes live, click Publish or Update in the top right, then click Publish or Update in the dialog box.

  • To schedule publishing for later:
    • Click the dropdown menu next to Publish or Update in the top right and select Publishing options
    • In the dialog box, select the Schedule publish for later checkbox. 
    • Use the date and time fields to select a publication time, then click Schedule.

Edit blog post settings

Customize general blog post settings

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Website > Blog.
  • Hover over a blog post and click Edit
  • Click the File menu and select Blog settings
  • In the Blog title field, enter the name of the blog post. This name will appear in an h1 tag at the top of the post, its tab in the visitor's browser, and in search results.
    • To separate the page's displayed title and h1 tag from the name of the page in the browser and search results, click Customize blog's page title
    • In the Blog title field, enter the title of the post that will appear on the page in an h1 tag. 
    • In the Page title field, enter the name of the blog post that will appear in the browser title bar and search results. 
  • To move the post to a different blog, click the Blog dropdown menu and select a blog. Once you publish this change, the URL of the post will automatically change to reflect its new destination. A redirect will be put in place from the post's previous URL. 
  • To edit the post's URL, click the edit Edit icon in the Post URL section, then enter a URL string in the Content slug field.

  • To set an author for the post, click the Author dropdown menu and select an author. Learn more about managing blog authors.
  • To add an existing tag to the post, click the Tags dropdown menu and select the tag. To add a new tag, click the Tags dropdown menu, then type the tag into the field and click Add "[name of your new tag]" tag. Learn more about managing blog tags.

Set the featured image

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Website > Blog.
  • Hover over a blog post and click Edit
  • Click the File menu and select Blog settings
  • In the dialog box, click Featured image in the left sidebar menu. 
  • To add a featured image, click to toggle the Enabled featured image switch on. Click Upload to select an image from your computer, or Browse images to select an image from the files tool

Edit meta description

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Website > Blog.
  • Hover over a blog post and click Edit
  • Click the File menu and select Blog settings
  • In the dialog box, click Metadata in the left sidebar menu. 
  • In the Meta description field, enter a description of the post's content that will appear in search results below the post title. 

Change the post template

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Website > Blog.
  • Hover over a blog post and click Edit
  • Click the File menu and select Blog settings.
  • In the dialog box, click Template in the left sidebar menu. 
  • To select a different template, click Change template for this blog, then change the template in your blog settings.
  • To edit the post template, click Edit this template

Set the post language

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Website > Blog.
  • Hover over a blog post and click Edit
  • Click the File menu and select Blog settings.
  • In the dialog box, click Language & Region in the left sidebar menu.
  • Click the Blog post language dropdown menu and select a language. Learn more about managing multi-language blogs

Set advanced post options

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Website > Blog.
  • Hover over a blog post and click Edit
  • Click the File menu and select Blog settings.
  • In the dialog box, click Advanced in the left sidebar menu.
  • To add code snippets to the head or footer HTML of the post, click the Head HTML or Footer HTML field, then enter your code snippet. To add code snippets to all content on a domain instead, access your website settings
  • To add a custom canonical URL, enter the URL in the Customize canonical URL field. Learn more about using canonical URLs.
