Automate your campaign in Marketing Studio

Use campaign automation to automate your campaigns directly within Marketing Studio. After creating your campaign automation, you can review and edit your automation performance from within the workflows tool as well.
You can also create automations using Campaign Agent. Learn more about using Campaign Agent to create and edit campaigns in Marketing Studio.
Permissions required Super Admin or Campaign permissions are required to create and manage campaign automation in Marketing Studio.
Create campaign automation
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Marketing Studio.
- In the campaigns table, hover over the campaign that you'd like to update and click the verticalMenuIcon three vertical dots icon and select Edit in canvas.
- At the top, click the Automate tab.
- By default, your campaign automation will have the same name as your campaign. To update your campaign automation name:
- Click the Automation box.
- In the dialog box, enter your new automation name. It'll be automatically saved and updated.
- To configure your automation trigger:
- Click + Add trigger. By default, re-enrollment will be turned on for campaign automation. Learn more about setting up workflow triggers.
- In the dialog box, click the Automation starts when dropdown menu and select a trigger.
- Click the [asset type] dropdown menu and select an associated asset. To use a new asset, click Add assets to campaign. If an asset has not been selected, the option to publish the automation will not appear.
- To add actions to your automation:
- Click the + add icon and select a workflow action. Then, configure your workflow actions. Learn more about the workflow actions available.
- In a campaign action, you can also use the Go to automation action to send your enrolled record to another workflow or campaign automation.
- To remove actions:
- To remove a single action, click the action. In the dialog box, click the deleteIcon delete icon above the action.
- To remove actions in bulk, click and drag a selection box to highlight the actions you'd like to delete. Then, press the backspace or delete key to delete the actions in bulk.

Add additional campaign automations
You can add multiple campaign automations and existing workflows to the same canvas in Marketing Studio to manage and have an overview of all automations associated with your campaign in one space.
- To add a new automation:
- In the top left, click the + add icon and select Add new automation.
- A new automation box will automatically appear in the canvas. Continue creating your campaign automation.

- To add an existing workflow:
- In the top right, click the + add icon and select Add existing.
- In the dialog box, select the workflow that you'd like to add.
- At the bottom, click Save. The workflow will appear in the canvas.
- To edit the workflow, click the workflow in the canvas. Then, click Edit in workflows. You'll be automatically directed to the workflow editor.
Turn on quick metrics and campaign automations
After setting up your automations and adding workflows:
- To review your automation performance, in the top right, click the filterIcon filter icon and select Show quick metrics. Metrics for each action in the automation will appear in the editor.
- When updating your automation, the changes will not be automatically applied. To update your automation after making changes:
- In the top right, click Update or Turn on.
- If you have multiple automation, in the dialog box, select the checkboxes next to the automations that you'd like to update or turn on, then click Turn on.
Turn off campaign automations
To turn off your automation:- In the top right, click downIcon down icon and select Manage automations.
- In the dialog box, select the checkboxes next to the automations that you'd like to turn off and click Turn off.

Remove or delete automations and workflows
To delete or remove an automation from your campaign in Marketing Studio:- Click the automation or workflow in the canvas.
- In the pop-up box, click the delete icon.
- If you're deleting a workflow, the workflow will be automatically removed from the campaign, but will not be deleted. It will remain in the workflows tool.
- If you're deleting a campaign automation, in the dialog box, select Remove from campaign or Delete to permnanently delete the automation.
