Use the data agent playground

Summary

Use the data agent playground to test data agent with live CRM records before setting up a data agent workflow. Choose a pre-built scenario, preview the results, and explore how data agent can enrich your CRM data.

Before you get started

• Tests run at no credit cost in the data agent playground. However, standard Data Agent actions outside the playground do consume credits.
• AI features must be turned on for your account. 

Open the data agent playground

1. In your HubSpot account, click More, then navigate to Data Management > Data Agent. If More doesn't appear in your account, navigate to Data Management > Data Agent directly.
2. Click the Playground tab on the left sidebar menu.
3. Under Choose a scenario, click to expand the different scenario categories, then select a pre-built scenario.

Run a test

1. Select the scenario you want to evaluate.
2. Choose the data framework for the test:
   • Existing smart properties
   • Recommended templates
   • A custom smart property
3. Review the data that will be used for the test.
4. Click Run test.
5. Review the results.

The test runs against live CRM records and displays the resulting insights and smart properties. Existing fields and enriched fields are visually distinguished so you can compare the results.

What happens to your CRM data

Data agent playground results are temporary. In the first version of the playground:

• Test results aren't saved to your CRM.
• Results can't be exported.
• The test doesn't create a data agent workflow.
• No CRM data is changed by running the test.

To use the results in an ongoing process, follow the prompts in the playground to set up a data agent workflow.

HubSpot Credits

Running a test in the data agent playground doesn't consume HubSpot Credits.

Data agent actions outside the playground may consume HubSpot Credits. Review the credit impact before setting up or running a data agent workflow.

Troubleshoot the data agent playground

If you don't see the data agent or Data Test option:

1. Confirm that you're using the correct HubSpot account.
2. Refresh the page and check the global navigation again.
3. Ask a Super Admin to confirm that AI features are turned on for your account.
4. Confirm that data agent is available for your subscription and account configuration.

Availability can vary by subscription, account settings, and rollout status.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to set up data agent before using the playground?

No. The playground lets you evaluate data agent without first creating a workflow or configuring a custom scenario.

Does the playground use real CRM data?

Yes. Tests run against live CRM records in your account.

Will a test update my CRM records?

No. Playground results are temporary and don't update your CRM records.

Do playground tests consume HubSpot Credits?

No. Tests run in the data agent playground at no HubSpot Credits cost. Other data agent actions may consume credits.

Can I save or export the results?

Not currently. Saving and exporting results aren't supported in the first version of the playground.
