Configure Microsoft Teams transcript API access

Last updated: August 5, 2026

Available with any of the following subscriptions, except where noted:

Microsoft now requires certain manual admin settings to keep Microsoft Teams transcript sync working with HubSpot. If you have configured this previously, you will still need to complete the following steps to meet the new API requirements. This article covers how to turn on the required settings in your Microsoft Teams admin center so that meeting transcripts and speaker data sync correctly to HubSpot.

Understand requirements

To complete this setup, you must have admin access to the Microsoft Teams admin center.

Set up transcript API access

In your Microsoft Teams admin center, turn on two settings to allow HubSpot to access meeting transcripts and attribute them to the correct speakers. Both settings below are required for the syncs to resume.

Turn on Graph transcript access

This setting allows HubSpot to securely access meeting transcripts via the Microsoft API.

  1. In your Microsoft Teams admin center, go to Meetings > Meeting settings.
  2. Under Transcript API access, toggle the Microsoft Graph access switch on.

Turn on speaker attribution

Speaker attribution allows HubSpot to map transcript text to the correct individuals in a meeting.

  1. Under Transcript API access, click Configure.
  2. Toggle the Include Speaker Attribution switch on.

Alternative: update settings via PowerShell

You can also turn on these settings using the Enable Graph Transcript Access command in PowerShell. Note that this requires the latest Microsoft library update.

What to expect after updating

Once these settings are updated, HubSpot's background tasks will attempt to restore your transcript subscriptions. It may take several hours for the sync to fully resume.
