Insert subscription links into marketing emails

By default, all marketing emails include at least one link in the email footer for contacts to manage their subscription preferences.

In compliance with recent requirements from Google & Yahoo for bulk senders, marketing emails will also include a link to unsubscribe from that email's subscription type above the email. This link may not appear for some recipients. 

You can also add links directly into the body of emails to allow contacts to manage their subscription preferences.

Add subscription links to a marketing email

1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Email.
2. Click the name of a drafted email or click Create email. 
3. In the email editor, highlight the text you'll use for the link, then click the link link icon in the rich text toolbar.
4. In the pop-up box, click the Link to dropdown menu and select Email subscription link.
5. Click the Subscription type dropdown menu and select a subscription type:
   
   • Subscription preferences: link to a preferences page where recipients can manage their subscription types individually.
   • Subscription confirmation: link to a double opt-in page where recipients can confirm their subscription.
   • Unsubscribe all: link that recipients can click to unsubscribe from all emails from your business.
6. Click Insert. 

Set the language of subscription preference links

The language of any subscription preferences links in a marketing email, including those in the email footer, will match the language you set for the email. To change an email's language: 

1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Email.
2. Click the name of a drafted email.
3. In the email editor, click the Setup tab.
4. Click the Language dropdown menu and select a language.
