BIMI (Brand Indicator for Message Identification) is an optional way for email senders to authenticate their brand. Once configured, you can display your brand's logo next to authenticated messages in supported inbox providers.

Before you get started

You can use BIMI when sending with HubSpot after setting up the following authentication policies:

Configure domain for use with BIMI

After you've set up DMARC, create a BIMI TXT record in your DNS provider.
  • For the host or name field of the record, enter default._bimi.example.com, replacing example.com with your email sending domain.
  • For the value of the record, enter "v=BIMI1; l=URL of Logo; a=URL of VMC;", replacing URL of Logo with a link to an SVG file of your brand logo. If you have a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC), replace the URL of VMC with a link to your VMC, otherwise you can leave the value blank.

Mailbox provider compatibility

BIMI is a new form of email verification that isn't yet supported by all mailbox providers. The following mailbox providers currently support BIMI:

  • Google
  • Fastmail
  • AOL mail

You can check on the adoption status of other providers on the BIMI working group's website.

Please note: having a properly configured BIMI record does not guarantee that a recipient's mailbox provider will display your brand logo. Some providers may use other criteria such as reputation, anti-abuse checks, or user complaints to determine whether to display a logo.
