Attach your content to a topic

On the Optimize tab in the content editor, you can attach a piece of content to a topic or subtopic. Linking your content to a pillar page helps establish its authority in search engine results. Learn more about the role of topics and subtopics in content strategy.
Please note: creating topic clusters in HubSpot does not affect your website's SEO directly.

Navigate to your content:
- Website Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Website > Website Pages.
- Landing Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Landing Pages.
- Blog: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Website > Blog.
- Hover over a page or post, then click Edit.
- Navigate to the Optimize tab.
- In the sidebar editor, click the Topic dropdown menu and select a topic. To create a new topic, select Add core topic instead. In the dialog box, enter a topic and click Save.
- If this content is your topic's pillar page, click Attach to topic. If this is support content for a subtopic keyword:
- Select the Is this supporting content? checkbox.
- Click the Subtopic keyword dropdown menu and select a keyword. To create a new subtopic keyword, select Add subtopic keyword instead. In the dialog box, enter a keyword and click Save.
- Click Attach to topic.
After you've selected a topic and subtopic, suggestions for additional keywords will be generated.
