Analyze content variants

Use reports within the personalization tool to view the performance of your content variants. You can view a summary, comparison, and top performing content variants. 

Before you get started

Before you begin working with this feature, make sure to fully understand what steps should be taken ahead of time, as well as the limitations of the feature and potential consequences of using it. 

Please note: the information in this article is confidential and intended for beta participants only. Please do not publicly share any information outlined here.


Understand limitations & considerations

  • A Marketing Hub or Content Hub Professional or Enterprise subscription is required.

View content variant performance

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Personalization.
  • On the Personalization page, click the Analyze tab.
  • On the Analyze tab, click the content type dropdown menu in the top left (e.g., CTA or Landing page) to analyze a specific content type.
  • To change the date range of the reports, click to select a date in the Date range fields.
  • At the top of the page, you can view the summary. 
    • The following metrics will be displayed for CTAs:
      • Views: the number of times your CTAs have been seen by visitors.
      • Clicks: the number of button or link clicks for your CTAs. Any other clicks on the CTA won't be counted. Learn more about CTA performance metrics.
      • Click rate: the percentage of views that lead to button or link clicks on the CTA. The click rate is the percentage of people who viewed, then clicked the CTA.
    • The following metrics will be displayed for landing pages:
      • Views: the number of times the landing page content has been loaded on a web browser.
      • Submissions: the number of form submissions on the landing page.
      • Conversion rate: the percentage of visitors to a landing page who submitted a form. Learn more about landing page performance metrics.
  • To view top performing personalized content, view the Highest performing personalized [content type] table. To sort the table, click the name of the column.
  • To compare non-personalized content to content variants, view the Personalization performance comparison (views) chart. 
    • To change the frequency of the chart, click the Frequency dropdown menu and select a frequency in the top right of the chart.
    • Hover over a specific point on the chart to see a breakdown of its data.
