How do I create a global group?

A global group is a collection of modules that are available as a set to be used on a HubSpot landing page, website page, or blog template. Global groups are useful when there are several elements that appear in the same way on multiple pages on your website. For example, global groups are commonly used when building headers and footers that look the same across multiple templates.

Please note: You can add a global module to an email template, but you cannot add a global group to an email template.

To make a global group:

  • In your HubSpot Marketing account, navigate to Content > Design Manager and click the name of the template you'd like to edit (or clone a default HubSpot template).
  • Click on the Group... button at the top of the preview window.
  • Select each of the modules that you would like to group together then click Create Group.
  • Click on the gear icon for your new group and select Make Group Global to make this group global so it can be used in any of your COS templates. Note: If your group contains a custom module, you will not be able to make the group global.
