Use a featured image on a page or blog post

Featured images appear as thumbnails when pages or blog posts are shared on social media. A featured image may be set on individual pages or posts and displayed on the blog listing page.

Add a featured image

1. Navigate to your content:
   • Website Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Content > Website Pages.
   • Landing Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Content > Landing Pages.
   • Blog: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Content > Blog.
2. Click the name of your content. 
3. In the content editor, click Settings on the top right.
4. In the dialog box, select Featured image in the left menu.
5. Toggle the Enabled featured image switch on. If an image appears in your blog post before the read more separator, HubSpot will automatically assign that image as the featured image.
6. To select a different image, click an option:
   • Browse images: select an image from the files tool,
   • Upload: use an image from your computer.
   • Generate with AI: generate an image using Breeze.
   • If your image is shown as an option, but doesn't have the Featured label, click the image to select it as the featured image. 

7. In the Image alt text field, enter a description of the image for search engines and screen readers to use.
8. In the dialog box, click X to go back to the content editor.
9. When finished, click Publish or Update in the top right.

Display featured images on a blog listing page

A blog’s featured images may be displayed on the blog listing page. When configured in the blog settings, the image appears with each post in the blog listing listing template.

1. In your HubSpot account, click the settings settings icon in the top navigation bar.
2. In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Content > Blog. 
3. In the Content View section, click the first dropdown menu and select a blog.
4. Click the Templates tab.
5. In the Blog Listing Page section, select the Use featured image in listing summaries checkbox.
6. In the bottom left, click Save.
