If a global group has been enabled for drag and drop editing, you can add, remove, and rearrange its contents within the page editor. Your changes will then apply across all pages and assets that use the global group.

Global content can be enabled for drag and drop editing by a developer. In addition, the footer in HubSpot's default Martech theme has been enabled for drag and drop editing. While you can't drag and drop edit the Martech theme header, you can instead drag and drop content above and below it.

To edit global group content using the drag and drop editor:

  • In the page editor, click the global group that you want to edit. Alternatively, in the left panel click the Content tab, then select the global group.
  • In the dialog box, click Open in global content editor. You will then be brought to a separate drag and drop editor for the selected global group.
  • For modules enabled by a developer to allow drag and drop, you can then proceed to edit the global group using the drag and drop editor. If you're editing the Martech theme footer, you'll first need to enable drag and drop editing in the global group:
    • In the left panel, click Drag and drop, then toggle the Enable drag and drop switch on. Once enabled, the page will reload and the group will reset to its default content. You'll need to recreate any custom content you previously created, and you can recover the previous content by toggling the Enable drag and drop switch off.

  • You can then proceed to drag and drop modules from the left sidebar into the global group, as well as remove and rearrange existing content. Learn more about drag and drop editing.
  • To return to the page editor without saving any changes, click Back to page editor in the upper left. Then in the dialog box, click Leave with unpublished changes.
  • To preview your changes, click Preview in the upper right.
  • When you're ready to save your changes, click Publish in the upper right.
