Understand revenue processes in HubSpot

HubSpot offers the flexibility to collect revenue in different ways. Understand the different revenue workflows you can use, and select the one most appropriate for your business. 

End-to-end revenue

Subscription required A Revenue Hub subscription is required to manage end-to-end revenue.

Revenue Hub helps you manage end-to-end revenue, from the initial sale through billing, payments, renewals, and revenue growth. It includes tools for quote and invoice generation, payment processing, contract management, and revenue reporting.

Configure, price, quote (CPQ)

Subscription required A Revenue Hub subscription is required to use HubSpot CPQ.

Use HubSpot CPQ to configure products and services and create, manage, and approve quotes. When the quote is ready, send it to your buyer to review, accept, and pay.

Contracts

Subscription required A Revenue Hub subscription is required to use contracts unless you're enrolled in the Direct Create, Edit, and Renew HubSpot Contracts beta.

Seats required A Revenue Hub seat is required to use contracts unless you're enrolled in the Direct Create, Edit, and Renew HubSpot Contracts beta.

Permissions required Super Admin or Create permissions for contracts are required to create contracts.

Use the contracts object in HubSpot as a centralized source of truth for committed revenue. You can create a contract directly (BETA) from a record or the contracts index page, or automatically create one when a buyer accepts a quote. Contracts can be used with other records and tools, such as deals and quotes, to manage end-to-end revenue in HubSpot.

Billing

Subscription required A Revenue Hub subscription is required to use HubSpot CPQ and contracts.

Request payment from customers with billing in HubSpot. Depending on your requirements, billing can be set up in the following ways:

Amend existing payment agreements by applying credit memos to invoices, editing contracts (BETA), or creating change quotes from contracts.

Payments

Collect one-time and recurring payments in HubSpot. Payments can be collected using payment links, or through invoices, quotes, legacy quotes, and subscriptions. Collect payments online or record payments made using other methods. Configure taxes and fees and the buyer checkout experience. Manage payouts, payments and payment disputes directly in HubSpot.
