- Create ChatGPT Ads campaigns in HubSpot

After connecting your ChatGPT Ads account to HubSpot, you can create and publish ChatGPT Ads campaigns from HubSpot, including the ad creative, targeting, budget, and schedule. After publishing, review campaign performance in the Ads dashboard and use ad engagement to support reporting, attribution, and workflow enrollment.
Permissions required Ads publishing permissions are required to connect your ad accounts. If this permission is granted through a permission set, update that permission set to include Ads publishing.
Please note: if you're a Super Admin, you can opt your account into the ChatGPT Ads in HubSpot beta.
Create a ChatGPT Ads campaign
- In your HubSpot account, click More, then navigate to Marketing > Ads. If More doesn't appear in your account, navigate to Marketing > Ads directly.
- In the top right, click Create, then select Ad campaign.
- Select ChatGPT Chat Card.
- Click the Ad account dropdown menu and select a connected ChatGPT ad account.
- In the top right, click Next.
Set up ad creative
On the Ad tab, you can preview your ad in the right panel. In the left panel, set up your ad creative and form:
- Click the edit pencil icon at the top of the page to enter a name for your ad.
- ChatGPT Ads campaign:
- Create new ChatGPT Ads campaign: create a new campaign and enter a name for your campaign into the field below.
- Add to existing: add your ad to an existing campaign. Select the campaign from the Select an existing campaign dropdown.
- Marketing campaign: associate the ad campaign with a HubSpot marketing campaign. Learn more about campaigns.
- Objective: select an objective for your ad. You can select Impressions, Clicks, or Conversions.
- Headline: enter a headline for your ad. After setting up your Body, you can also use AI assistants to generate a headline based on the Body content.
- Body: enter text for your ad. You can also use AI assistants to generate copy for your ad.
- Image: upload an image for your ad.
- Website page URL: if you're creating a website traffic ad campaign, you can select an existing HubSpot page or manually enter the URL of your website page.
Specify targeting
On the Targeting tab, set up the targeting for your ChatGPT ad:
- Context hints: describe the topics or conversations where your products or services might be relevant.
- Platforms: select the platforms where your ad should appear: iOS, Android, and Web.
- Included locations: enter any specific city, state, or country.
- Excluded locations: enter any specific city, state, or country.
- Included audiences: select audiences to include.
- Excluded audiences: select audiences to exclude.
Enter budget and schedule
On the Budget & Schedule tab, set up the budgeting and schedule for your ad:
- Budget: click the dropdown menu and select whether your budget is for Daily or the Total amount for the ad, and enter the amount.
- Bidding strategy: ChatGPT Ads uses fixed cost-per-thousand-impressions (CPM) pricing. You don't need to configure a bidding strategy.
- Maximum CPM bid: set the maximum amount you’ll pay per 1,000 impressions.
- Start date: use the fields to select a start and end date and time for your ad to run.
Publish or Save
To publish or save your ad:
- In the top right, click Publish. Once you've published your campaign, you can analyze ad performance from your Ads page.
- You can also save your progress at any point and return to finish setting up your ad later. To save your ad as a draft:
- In the top left, click Exit.
- In the dialog box, click Save and Exit. HubSpot will save your drafted ad, which you can resume editing at any time.
- To view your current drafted ad campaigns:
- In your HubSpot account, click More, then navigate to Marketing > Ads. If More doesn't appear in your account, navigate to Marketing > Ads directly.
- In the left sidebar menu, click Drafts.
- To resume editing one of your drafted campaigns, click the campaign name.
- To remove a draft, hover over the campaign and click Delete. In the dialog box, enter delete. Then, click Delete draft.
Review reporting and attribution
Once connected, your ChatGPT ad campaigns appear in the Manage and Analyze tabs alongside your other ad networks. Campaign, ad group, and ad-level reporting are available in the same places as other networks.
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Ads.
- Click the Manage tab to view your ChatGPT ad campaigns.
- To view details about a specific campaign, hover over the campaign and click View details.
- Click the Analyze tab to review performance metrics.
- Use the filters to adjust which metrics are visible.
- To save a metric as a report, navigate to the metric and click Save report. In the right panel, adjust your report settings, then click Next. Select the level of access you want to grant, then click Save.
Enroll contacts in workflows
Contacts that interact with your ChatGPT Ads can be enrolled in HubSpot workflows, so you can trigger automated follow-up directly from ad engagement. Learn more about creating workflows.
