Manage video files

From your video details, you can manage keywords, chapters, captions, thumbnail, and more. Review the video's performance, additional video file details, and any variations created from the clip editor.
You can also turn on advanced features for your video files, such as tracking video performance, adding the video to your HubSpot content, and using subtitles.
After uploading and managing your video file in the files tool, learn how to edit your video files and add videos to your HubSpot content. You can also upload and publish videos directly from the video tool.
Please note: Please avoid sharing any sensitive information in your enabled data inputs for AI features, including your prompts. Admins can configure generative AI features in account management settings. Understand the AI features available in the video tool
To use AI features, you must turn on the Generative AI and Files data features in your AI settings. Learn more about managing your AI settings.
The features available in your video details depend on your HubSpot subscription. This is subject to change. Please refer to our Products & Services Catalog for the most up-to-date pricing and packaging information:

Navigate to your video details
After editing your video clip, you'll be directed to the video details page for that clip. Alternatively, to navigate to your video details from the files tool or the video tool.
To navigate to your video details from the files tool:
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to Content > Files. If you're using HubSpot's free tools, navigate to Marketing > Email. In the top right, click Email tools and select Files.
- From the files tool, search for and select the name of the video file.
- In the right panel, review your video details.
If you have a Content Hub Professional or Enterprise subscription, to navigate to your video details from the videos tool:
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to Content > Video.
- Search for and select the name of the video file. You'll be directed to the video details page.
Set your video's title, keywords, SEO description, chapters, and thumbnail
From the Optimization tab, set up your video details:
- Video title: enter a title for your video, to be used in web pages, the sitemap XML, and when sharing the video.
- Keywords: add keywords to fill in hashtags and metadata when sharing your video.
- To manually add a keyword, click Add keyword. In the dialog box, enter your keyword and click Save.
- If you have a Content Hub Professional or Enterprise subscription, to automatically generate keywords using AI, click the artificialIntelligence AI icon. AI generated keywords will automatically appear in the keywords section.
- SEO description: enter a SEO description for use in web pages, sitemap XML, and when sharing. To automatically generate an SEO description based on the video content, click the artificialIntelligence AI icon.
- Chapters (Content Hub Professional or Enterprise only): click to toggle the Chapters switch on to add chapters and allow viewers to jump to different parts of the video.
- When using chapters, please note the following:
- Chapters will only appear in the player on supported platforms.
- You can create up to 20 chapters per video.
- To manage your chapters:
- To preview the chapter, click the time code next to each chapter.
- To edit the chapter name, hover over the chapter and click Edit. Then, enter your new chapter name and click Save.
- To delete a chapter, hover over the chapter and click Delete.
- To add a new chapter, enter a timestamp to mark when the chapter begins. Then, enter your chapter name and click Save. The chapter will end at the start time of the next sequential chapter.
- When using chapters, please note the following:
- Thumbnail: select or edit the thumbnail for your video. Learn more about managing thumbnails in videos.
Review your video's performance reports
From the Performance tab, review the following performance reports for your video:- Video performance by social post (Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise only): the count of video views, interactions, and comments by social network. The video views metric does not apply to videos on X.
- Video metrics: the Total plays and Unique viewers for the video.
- Plays: each video play is tracked as soon as playback begins.
- Unique viewers: each unique viewer is counted according to the HubSpot tracking code. If a visitor deletes their cookies, they will be considered a new visitor and will be assigned a new cookie. Learn more about tracking visitors in HubSpot.
- Views over time: the count of total plays per day.
- Video retention: the retention metrics for your video, including the Avg. view duration, Avg % duration, and Qualified views metrics.
- Avg. view duration: the average amount of time a video is viewed for, in minutes.
- Avg % duration: the average completion percentage of a video.
- Qualified views: the count of qualified views where at least 75% of the video was watched.
- Video performance by page: the video's performance by web page.
- Engagement by Contact: the video's engagement by tracked contacts.
Add and manage your video captions
In the Captions tab, upload custom captions or use AI to generate captions. You can also add AI-translated captions directly on video clips from the video editor.
- To manually upload a caption:
- Click Upload file.
- In the right panel, click the Language dropdown menu and select a language for your captions. Then, click Select file.
- If you have a Content Hub Professional or Enterprise subscription, to add an AI-generated caption, click Start with AI.
- If you have a Content Hub Professional or Enterprise subscription, you can also translate your generated captions using AI. Learn more about the available languages for translation.
- In the top right, click AI Translate.
- In the right panel, click the Translate to dropdown menu and select the checkboxes for the languages that you'd like to translate.
- At the bottom, click Translate.
- To manually upload another caption, in the top right, click Upload captions.
Manage uploaded or AI-generated captions
After adding your caption, you can review, edit, and delete your caption directly from the video details page.
You can also turn on and turn off each caption to control which language captions appear in your video player. For example, you may want to hide AI-generated subtitles entirely while still using your own uploaded caption files.
- To turn a caption on or off, click to toggle the switch to the right of the caption. This will determine whether the caption appears to viewers on the video or not.
- To review a caption, hover over the caption and click View.
- To replace an AI-generated caption, hover over a caption. Then, click Actions and select Upload own captions.
- To set a different caption as the primary language, hover over a caption. Then, click Actions and select Set as primary language.
- To remove a caption, hover over a caption. Then, click Actions and select Delete. You can only delete captions that have been turned off. If the caption has not been turned off, this option will not appear.
- To edit a caption directly from your video details, hover over a caption, then click Edit. In the right panel, continue editing your transcript:

- To edit specific words in the transcript, click the word that you'd like to edit and select Edit word. In the pop-up box, enter your new word and click Save.
- To delete a word, click the word that you'd like to remove and select Delete.
- To find and replace all instances of a specific word in the transcript:
- In the top right, search for the word that you'd like to find and replace.
- Click the find and replace toggle to expand the section.
- In the Replace field, enter the word that you'd like to replace with.
- Click Replace all. Every instance of the word will be replaced in your transcript.

- After updating your transcript, at the bottom, click Save.
Review your video file details and manage your video's advanced features setting
From the Details tab, review your file details such as:- Advanced features: choose whether to turn advanced features for the video on or off. Learn more about using advanced features in HubSpot videos.
- Created: the date the video was created.
- Updated: the most recent date the video was edited.
- Duration: the length of the video.
- File Size: the size of the video file.
- Dimensions: the visual dimensions of the video in pixels.
- File type: the file type, such as mp4, mov, and more.
- File usages: any other HubSpot content where the file is used.
- File URL visibility: change the visibility and accessibility of your file. Learn more about managing your file URL visibility.
- File URL by domain: to update your file's URL domain, click the dropdown menu and select one of your connected subdomains.
- By default, files are hosted on HubSpot's content delivery network system domain, with f.hubspotusercontent appearing in the domain of the file URL.
- You can update your settings to host all files on one of your connected subdomains.
- File expiration date: set a date and time for the file to expire.
- To remove a file's expiration date, select the date picker and click Cancel. If no expiration date has been set, the file will be retained indefinitely.
- When the file has expired, it will automatically be sent to files trash.
- Marketing campaign: associate your file with a campaign. Learn more about using campaigns in HubSpot.
Understand video advanced features
For each video in the files tool, you can choose whether to turn on advanced features. Do note the following:
- The number of videos with advanced features in your account will depend on your HubSpot subscription. To increase the number of videos with advanced features, you can purchase the video limit increase add-on.
- If you have a Content Hub Enterprise subscription, you can turn on advanced features for up to 500 videos.
- If you have a Content Hub Professional subscription, you can turn on advanced features for up to 150 videos.
- If you have a Service Hub or Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise subscription, you can turn on advanced features for up to 50 videos.

Review variations of your video clip
Subscription required A Content Hub Professional or Enterprise subscription is required to access and use the Clips tab.
In the Clips tab, review the different edited variations of the original video.
- If your clip is longer than 5 minutes, AI will automatically generate and suggest three clips as well as titles for each clip. Each suggested clip will be shorter than 90 seconds.
- To preview the clip, hover over the clip to autoplay. To turn on audio when previewing the clip, click the audio icon.
- To open the suggested clip in the editor, hover over the clip and click Edit. Learn more about using the clip editor.
- To save all suggested clips, click Save all as drafts. The new clips will appear in the Clips tab when reviewing your video file.
- To continue editing a variation clip of the video, hover over the clip and click Edit. You'll be redirected to the clip editor.
- To delete a variation clip of the video, hover over the clip and click the delete delete icon.
