Create versions of marketing emails that are viewed in browser

Last updated: November 12, 2025

Available with any of the following subscriptions, except where noted:

Turn on the web version of your marketing email to automatically generate a page using the contents of the email. This can help users who are having issues viewing the email still receive the content.

Once published, the web version of your email will be available through a link in the body of your email, but will not be indexable by search engines like Google.

Understand limitations and considerations

  • The email's web version will not be live until the corresponding email is sent.
  • Web versions of automated emails will always reflect the most recently updated version of that email.
  • The HubSpot tracking code will not be included in the web version of your email, and any associated views won't be tracked in traffic analytics or campaigns.
  • Only contact and company personalization tokens will render in the web version of your marketing email. All other personalization tokens will only show the fallback value.
  • If you included a product or abandoned cart module in your email, products in the module will not render in the web version.
  • Web versions of emails are not available in HubSpot free trial accounts.

Create a web version of a marketing email

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Email.
  2. Click the name of a drafted email, or click Create email
  3. In the email editor, click the setup icon in the left sidebar.
  4. In the Template section, toggle the View in browser switch on.
  5. In the Page Title field, enter a title for your page. This will appear as the page name in the visitor's browser.
  6. In the View in browser URL section, set the page's URL:
    • If you have multiple connected domains, click the Domains dropdown menu and select a domain
    • In the Content slug field, enter the URL slug
  7. To unpublish the view in browser version on a specific date:
    • Select the Unpublish page on specific date checkbox.
    • Click the Unpublish date date picker and select a date
    • Click the Unpublish time dropdown menu and select a time
    • Click the When page is unpublished, redirect visitors to dropdown menu and select a page. To redirect to a page not hosted on HubSpot, select Enter an external URL, then paste the URL in the dialog box and click Save

Please note: if your account has a Marketing Hub Starter subscription, the web version of the email will automatically expire a year after publication.
