Preview marketing emails for specific email clients

As you design your marketing email, you can preview how it looks on different email clients across device types. This ensures you can address unexpected issues and create a consistent experience for all recipients.

Understand limitations and considerations

  • For each 30 day rolling period, you can generate inbox previews based on the following limits: 
    • Marketing Hub Professional accounts can create up to 500 tests. Each time an email client is tested, it counts toward the limit.
    • Marketing Hub Enterprise accounts can create up to 1500 tests. Each time an email client is tested, it counts toward the limit. w

Generate previews for email clients and devices

Before sending your email, you can preview what it will look like across different versions of email clients. 

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Email.
  2. Click the name of an existing drafted email.
  3. In the top right of the email editor, click the Preview and test dropdown menu and select Preview in an email client.
  4. By default, previews will be generated for the most popular email client versions. To view a larger version of a preview, click Expand under its name.
  5. To preview more email client versions:
    • Click the Choose preview type dropdown menu in the top left and select the checkbox next to each version you want to preview. To remove a version, clear the checkbox next to its name. 
    • In the top right, click Preview to generate previews for all selected versions. 
  6. To preview the email as a specific contact across email client versions, click the Preview as dropdown menu and select a contact. Then click Preview in the top right. 
  7. To access a previous set of previews, click the dropdown menu in the top left next to Display options and select a preview

  1. By default, many clients will initially turn off images when the email first loads. To see how your email appears without images, click the Display options dropdown menu in the top left, then toggle Image blocking on.
