Send a test marketing email

To test how a marketing email will appear in recipients' inboxes before you send it, you can send a test email from the email editor. This allows you to correct any issues that may not be apparent in the editor before sending the email.
This article covers how to send a test email on desktop in the email editor. Learn more about sending a test email using the HubSpot mobile app.
Subscription required Edit permissions for marketing emails are required to send test emails.
- In your HubSpot account, click More, then navigate to Marketing > Email. If More doesn't appear in your account, navigate to Marketing > Email directly.
- Click the name of a drafted email.
- In the email editor, click the Preview and test dropdown menu in the top right and select Send test email.
- In the right panel, click the Send test to dropdown menu and select a recipient.
- To receive the test email as a specific contact, click the Preview as contact dropdown menu and select a contact.
- To receive a test email of the plain text version of the email, click to expand the Advanced section and select the Send plain text version checkbox.
- Click Send.
The recipient you selected will receive the test email in their inbox. The test email will have a from address of noreply@hubspot.com and from name of Marketing Email Preview Send.
When you send the actual email, the from address and name will appear as you set them in the email editor.
