Image and video requirements for social posts

Available with any of the following subscriptions, except where noted:

When you create a social post in HubSpot, any image or video you include in your post should adhere to specific requirements, such as file size and aspect ratio. The recommendations for image and video for each network are listed below.

Facebook

Images

For Facebook posts, it’s recommended to use images that are at least 1200 x 630 pixels for high resolution devices.

Instagram

Instagram media requirements vary based on the post type (e.g., feed post, reel, or story).

Images

The following image requirements apply to Instagram feed posts, reels, and stories.

  • File types: PNG, JPG, or JPEG.
  • Maximum file size: 8 MB.

Videos

The following video requirements apply to Instagram feed posts, reels, and stories.

  • File types: MP4 or MOV.
  • Maximum width: 1920 pixels.
  • Frame rates: 23 fps - 60 fps. 

LinkedIn

Images

It’s recommended to use images larger than 552 (width) x 276 (height) pixels. Once images are uploaded, they cannot be resized.

  • File types: PNG, JPG, JPEG, or GIF.
  • Maximum file size: 10 MB.
  • Recommended aspect ratio: 3:1 to 2:3 (width/height). If the ratio is larger, the image will be centered and cropped.
  • Images per post: up to nine images.

Videos

  • Minimum file size: 75 KB.
  • Maximum file size: 5 GB.
  • Video duration: 3 seconds to 30 minutes.
  • Aspect ratio: 1:2.4 - 2.4:1.
  • Videos per post: one video only.

TikTok

Images

  • File types: JPG, JPEG, or WebP.
  • Maximum resolution: 1080×1920 or 1920×1080 pixels.
  • Maximum file size: 20 MB per image.
  • Images per post: up to 35 images.

Videos

  • File types: MP4, MOV, or WebM.
  • Video duration: three seconds to 10 minutes. The maximum video duration may vary based on your TikTok account type.
  • Frame rate: 23 to 60 fps.
  • Minimum file width and height: 360 pixels.
  • Maximum file size: 1 G.
  • Videos per post: one video only.

X

Images

Your image will be automatically scaled when a user expands a post, or when displayed in your gallery.

  • File types: PNG, JPG, JPEG, or GIF.
  • Maximum image size: 5 MB.
  • Maximum file width and height: 8192 pixels.
  • Maximum GIF size: up to 5 MB on mobile devices and up to 15 MB on desktop.

  • Aspect ratios: 1:2.39 - 2.39:1 range (inclusive).
  • Maximum frame rate: 60 fps.
