Update contact properties through the tracking code API

Available with any of the following subscriptions, except where noted:

In your HubSpot account, you can update contact properties using the tracking code API. This setting will not impact other APIs that you might use for updating contact properties, such as the forms API.

Please note: this functionality is not available for accounts created after September 7th, 2021.

  1. In your HubSpot account, click the settings icon in the top navigation bar.
  2. In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Tracking & Analytics > Tracking Code.
  3. Click the Advanced Tracking tab.
  4. Click to toggle the Allow tracked events to update contact properties switch on.
  5. Click Save.
  6. This configuration will not take effect instantly, it can take up to 5 minutes to begin.
