Updating to the most recent version of HubSpot Sales plugin for Outlook will sometimes cause the error below.
We have been working with Microsoft and found that this error is due to a known issue in Outlook. However, you can correct the issue by taking the following steps:
Please note: these steps apply to the HubSpot Sales Outlook plugin. If you have the HubSpot Sales Office 365 add-in, you can find troubleshooting steps here.
- Navigate to My Computer from your desktop.
- In the top file structure bar, paste in the following directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VSTO\10.0.
- In that folder, locate and delete the file called VSTOInstaller.exe.Config.
- Redownload and install the latest version of HubSpot Sales for Outlook from here.
If you cannot find the file in the directory above, try this directory instead: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VSTO\10.0.
