Updating to the most recent version of the HubSpot Sales Outlook desktop add-in will sometimes cause the error below:
We have been working with Microsoft and found that this error is due to a known issue in Outlook. However, you can correct the issue by taking the following steps:
Please note: these steps apply to the HubSpot Sales Outlook plugin. If you have the HubSpot Sales Office 365 add-in, follow the troubleshooting steps for that add-in instead.
- Navigate to My Computer from your desktop.
- In the top file structure bar, paste in the following directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VSTO\10.0.
- In that folder, locate and delete the file called VSTOInstaller.exe.Config.
- Redownload and install the latest version of HubSpot Sales for Outlook.
If you cannot find the file in the directory above, try this directory instead: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VSTO\10.0.
