Workflows enable you to copy contact or company property values to other contact or company properties. You can also copy values between contact and company properties. If you are looking to copy a property, but notice the target property you’d like to use isn’t available in the dropdown, it may be because of its property type.
Use the chart below to determine if the source and target properties you are using are compatible for copying in workflows:
|Source Property||Destination Property|
|Text (Single and multi-line)||Number||Date (Date picker)||Datetime (includes some default properties i.e. "Last Activity Date" and datetime properties created via API)||Enumeration (Dropdown select, radio select, multi-checkbox, single checkbox)|
|Text (Single and multi-line)||Yes||No||No||No||No|
|Date (Date picker)||No||No||Yes||Yes||No|
|Datetime (includes some default properties i.e. "Last Activity Date" and datetime properties created via API)||No||No||No **||Yes||No|
|Enumeration (Dropdown select, radio select, multi checkbox, single checkbox)||Yes ***||No||No||No||Yes *|
* For enumeration properties, ensure that the internal values for the property options of the target property match the values that contact may have in the source property. Read more here.
** It is not possible to copy values from datetime properties to date properties in a workflow because the date properties can't store the same timestamp that is stored in the datetime property. Read more here.
*** When copying enumeration properties to text properties, note that internal value for the enumeration property will be copied. Read more here.
