Manage campaigns

After you've created your campaign in HubSpot, you can manage your campaigns from the campaigns index page. You can edit and update your campaign details, clone a campaign, take actions on your campaign, and export your campaign details.

From the campaigns index page, you can also segment your campaigns or organize your campaigns with folders. Learn more about organizing your campaigns.

Please note: if you've opted into the Marketing Studio beta, your existing campaigns will be moved into the Manage tab in Marketing Studio. 

Edit campaign details

After creating a campaign, can still edit the details of the campaign. If you're updating the campaign name, do note the following:

  • HubSpot will create and add a new utm_campaign value for all future tracking URLs associated with your campaign.
  • The old utm_campaign value will still be connected to your campaign to ensure the continuity of your historical data.

You can edit the details for an individual campaign or edit details for multiple campaigns from the campaigns table. The properties that can be edited from the table view will be determined by the campaign view used. To edit an existing campaign's details:

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Campaigns.
  2. To edit an individual campaign:
    • In the table, hover over the campaign and click the menu icon, then select Edit campaign.
    • In the right panel, you can edit your campaign details. 
    • After updating the campaign's details, at the bottom of the panel, click Save.
  1. To edit campaign details while in table view:
    • In the campaigns table, click the property for the campaign that you'd like to edit. Then, select or enter a property value
    • To edit another property, click another campaign property in the table. 
    • After making your edits, in the bottom left, click Save
 

 

Manage your campaigns

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Campaigns.
  2. To take further action on your workflow, hover over a campaign, then click Actions. Then, select from the following: 
    • Summarize: generate a summary of campaign insights using Breeze Assistant. Learn more about generating campaign insights using AI.
    • Move to folder: move the campaign to a specific folder. 
    • View performance: review your campaign performance reports. Learn more about analyzing individual campaign performance
    • View details: review your individual campaign details. 
    • Create a task: create a task for the specified campaign. Learn more about creating and assigning tasks from the campaigns tool
    • Create tracking URL: create a tracking URL for your campaign. Learn more about creating tracking URLs.
    • Edit campaign: edit and update your campaign details. 
    • Compare campaign: compare the performance for specified individual campaigns. Learn more about analyzing your campaign performance
    • Manage access (Marketing Hub Enterprise only): assign access to the campaign. You can allow access for all users, or specific users and teams. When doing so, only users and teams granted access can edit the campaign. Learn more about limiting access to your assets in HubSpot
    • Export: export campaign data for the individual selected campaign. 
    • Delete: delete a campaign. Deleting a HubSpot campaign will not delete its associated assets and content. After deleting a campaign, you can restore the campaign within 3 months of deletion. Learn more about deleting and restoring campaigns

Clone a campaign

You can clone an existing HubSpot campaign, including its associated assets. When cloning a campaign, please note the following:
  • The following campaign assets will be cloned with the naming convention Asset name (Campaign name):

    • Blog posts
    • Calls-to-action (CTAs)
    • Emails
    • Forms
    • Landing pages
    • Website pages
    • Other sources
    • campaigns
  • Social posts and tracking URLs will remain in the original campaign and will not be cloned.

  • There is a limit of 255 characters for cloned campaign asset or content names. Asset or content names that exceed the character limit will be truncated.

To clone a campaign: 

    1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Campaigns.
    2. Hover over a campaign, then click Clone.
    3. In the right panel, enter any new details for the cloned campaign, then click Save.

Export overall campaign details 

 After creating your campaign, if you are a super admin or have export permissions, you can export your HubSpot campaign details to share information with external stakeholders. You can export this data in a csv, xls, or xlsx file from your campaigns dashboard.

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Campaigns.
  2. In the top right, click Actions, then select Export campaigns.

  1. Configure your export file: 
    • Name: enter a name for your export. 
    • Format: select a format for your export, you can export your campaign details in a csv, xls, or xlsx file. 
    • Send to: this will be set to your HubSpot user email by default. 
    • Choose what you'd like to export: for the selected view, choose whether you would like to export the data displayed in the table or all available dashboard data. 
      • Campaign dashboard data in current view: export data based on the campaign details displayed for campaigns in the current view. The campaign details in the export will correspond to the column headers in the campaigns table. 
      • All available dashboard data: export all data for campaigns in the current view. This includes campaign details not displayed in the campaigns table. 
  2. Click Export to receive an email with a download link to the export file. This download link will be valid for 90 days. You can also review and access the campaign export from your Import and Export settings
