Manage custom events with HubSpot event health

Manage custom event usage and resolve errors with HubSpot event health. 

Review custom event usage limits

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Data Management > Event Management.
  2. Navigate to the Monitor tab.
  3. In the This month vs last month chart, view the number of event completions that have been used. 
  1. Use the All custom events table to view a breakdown of all custom events.

View custom event delivery errors

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Data Management > Event Management.
  2. Navigate to the Monitor tab.
  3. In the left panel, navigate to the Delivery errors page.
  4. View a summary of events that have been delivered with and without errors. 
  5. For events that have an error, hover over the error in the Error logs table and click View error details
  6. In the right panel, view the error details.

Add properties to a custom event

Properties may appear as an error in the Monitor tab if they were sent via the API without being created on a custom event initially. This can be resolved by adding the property data to the event.

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Data Management > Event Management.
  2. Navigate to the Monitor tab.
  3. In the left panel, navigate to the Delivery errors page.
  4. Hover over an event in the Error logs table, then click Actions > Add properties to event.
  5. Based on the most recent property values in your events, suggested properties will be generated.
  6. Review the properties and configure the HubSpot property label and Field type. 
  7. To create the property, select the checkbox next to the property. Then click Confirm.

Delete a custom event

Removing inaccurate data is key to having reports, segments, and CRM records that you can trust. To delete a custom event:

  1. In your HubSpot account, navigate to Data Management > Event Management.
  2. Click the Manage tab.
  3. In the table, hover over the event you would like to delete, click Actions, then select Delete.
  4. Alternatively, you can select multiple event occurrences by clicking the checkboxes, then selecting Delete at the top of the table. You can delete up to 100 at a time.
