BIMI (Brand Indicator for Message Identification) is an optional way for email senders to authenticate their brand. Once configured, you can display your brand's logo next to authenticated messages in supported inbox providers. This is helpful for clearly associating emails with your brand.
BIMI is currently supported by Google, Apple Mail, and Yahoo, among others. Learn more about mailbox providers that support BIMI in BIMI's documentation.
Please note: having a properly configured BIMI record does not guarantee that a recipient's mailbox provider will display your brand logo. Some providers may use other criteria such as reputation, anti-abuse checks, or user complaints to determine whether to display a logo.
Understand requirements
You can use BIMI when sending with HubSpot after setting up the following authentication policies:- Authenticate using DKIM by connecting an email sending domain to HubSpot.
- Authenticate using SPF by adding HubSpot to a domain's SPF policy, which will allow HubSpot to send emails on behalf of your domain.
- Set up a DMARC policy and ensure that the policy is at enforcement (e.g., set to quarantine or reject).
Create a BIMI TXT record
After you've set up DMARC, create a BIMI TXT record in your DNS provider.- For the host or name field of the record, enter
default._bimi.example.com, replacing example.com with your email sending domain. - For the value of the record, enter
"v=BIMI1; l=URL of Logo; a=URL of VMC;". - Replace URL of Logo with a link to an SVG file of your brand logo. The SVG file should use the SVG Tiny PS (Portable Secure) format and be hosted on a publicly accessible server.
- Replace URL of VMC with a link to your Verified Mark Certificate (VMC), a digital certificate proving you own the trademark in the logo. Your VMC should be hosted on a publicly accessible server.
