Last updated: November 4, 2025

Available with any of the following subscriptions, except where noted:

Use conditional formatting on your table charts to understand the data in your report better. You can highlight or apply color scales to number properties in your table to draw attention to the most important information. Conditional formatting can be applied to table visualizations built in the custom report builder and the single object report builder

  1. Create a table visualization in the custom report builder or the single object report builder.
  2. Navigate to Chart settings:
    • In the Single object report builder, in the left side panel, click the Visualization tab, then click Chart settings.
    • In the Custom report builder, in the left side panel, click the Configure tab, then click Chart settings.
  3. In the Conditional formatting section, click the Choose column to apply to dropdown menu to select the column to apply conditional formatting to. Number, currency, percentage, and duration property types can have conditional formatting applied. Learn more about property types in HubSpot.

  1. Click the Color palette dropdown menu and select a color palette.
  2. To edit the colors applied for Min and Max, click the Min or Max color selectors and select a color. Fields that contain no value or are blank won't have a color applied.
  3. Click + Add midpoint, to define a middle color.
  4. By default, auto values will be applied to the MinMid, and Max fields. To define these values, enter a specific number. If there is a number below or above the min or max, the field will have the color of the min or max.

Please note: auto values show a gradient based on the values visible on the current page of the table, not all values in the column. To include all column values in the gradient, enter specific min or max values.

  1. To add conditional formatting to another column, click the Choose column to apply to dropdown menu and select another column. Apply your settings.
  2. For Duration property field types, click the Duration dropdown menu to set a time measurement for the column gradient scale.
  3. To delete conditional formatting that has been applied to a column, select the column from the Choose column to apply to dropdown menu, then click delete Remove conditional formatting.
